There is a set of them for sale in the classifieds right now...though you might be too late..

Oh, I believe all you have to do is machine the center hole out a bit so it fits.

Snipers suck! I know it's all part of the game but I hate getting the e-mail saying I lost an auction only to see I lost it by $.50 in the last two seconds. Really? Are there people out there who have this much time to watch auctions? Must be the unemployed.

1) you didn't lose by $.50 as you will never know what the winners high bid was - so don't feel bad.

2) who watches?

Find it - select "watch this item"

on the day the auction is ending ebay sends a reminder out

check the price that day - if it is more that you want to spend on it you are done

if you still want to bid set the alarm on your cell phone for 15 minutes before the auction ends

with 15 seconds left enter one bid, one time with the most you would pay for it and be honest with yourself!

thats it!

16 bids with 2 days left is a joke!

I'd like that pulley but it is already more than I would pay so no need to check back!

Yeah, I have a line on one from a guy...So I'm in spectator mode on this one for now anyways.

honestly, I wouldn't spend that much money for a pulley that doesn't show the condition of the teeth and anyway it is something you will have to change sooner or later and you will not be able to refresh it.
you can find cool pulleys out there, brand new, for less money... ; )

actually you do loose by .50, even though the winning bidder might have put a higher ammount, it still sold for .50 more, not the bidders highest amount he put in.

And damn, thats gotten way high, im with Italian, not worth it for a pulley that doesnt show the condition of the teeth.

For that kind of dough, I'd buy one from across the pond that matches my XB wheel.

I have at least 2 full extra sets of Bodywork and some other misc. parts in the garage.

1. The grey set the bike came with
2. a complete Blue set
3. A complete mismatch set

The plan was to take the mismatch set and paint it white with orange rally stripes to match the frame. Now I am thinking that the white set with this tail will look sweet. I might even add in some Blue pinstripes to kinda like the white 2003 XB9r had.

That's designed for the S1 IIRC, so you might have to do some frame cutting and welding... I saw it and was watching it but the cracks and the rash made me not want it...glad you got a dealio!

I went to Airtech's website and it said it will fit on an M2 without any mention of frame cutting.

http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/buell/M2199702 .htm

They did mention having to cut the S2 or S3, but not the M2. So we will see, if it doesn't work, I will just repost it on eBay.

I thought about that piece and the fairing that sold as well, but changed mind since neither will fit my S2 withou some mods.

Isn't the frame different on the 97-98 M2 and the 99 and later? I know the seat is different.

there was a pic of factory white/orange m2 a while back and that thing looked great koz. i hope you do that. look at joesbuell's bike and how well that turned out. for some reason, a white buell is just down right sexy and very appealing to the eyes. i'd like to get white plastics for the 12r and just keep the red in with it.

ok, let me rephrase, another bid $1 higher on your part is unlikely to have made you a winner by $.50.
Doing so is how a $150 pulley gets bid up to $400!
Better? : )

All that's happening is that everyone is putting their MAX bid in now. This is what happens with rare parts on eBay.

Yeah, looking at the bidding history it looks like you are right, but that would mean that n***l with his one win under his belt went in early with a $400 bid?
Wow!
Now if he waited to the last few seconds to place that bid....

Brinnutz - Yeah, it shoud be a fun project, maybe not for this year, but for $50 it was worth picking up to store for a later date or when the opportunity is right. Also I thought it would help me keep up with your massive collection of spare and unusual parts.

Nevrenuf - I saw that picture and it dod look sweet. Back in the summer of 2002 I was riding a Honda Nighthawk SC700 (cool bike also in my opinion) and a guy pulled up next to me on Red X1 with the white stripes and it looked sweet. However, I thought with the Orange frame on my bike this was the way to go. I have always been a Camaro guy and the tubers have always reminded my of a late 60's muscle car. The white and orange 69 Camaro RS is a sweet looking ride.

Dragonwing - way to funny. This auction is blowing me away.

Koz,

Glad that you got the airtech tail. I was looking at the two pieces because I would like to mount a fairing on my M2 but I want a normal headlight and decent wind protection.

Glad there are still some deals to be had though after watching the pulley bidding!

It's buttheads like n**l that aggravate me. 21 bids and 10 of them are his/hers. That was what my previous rant was about earlier, someone bidding sixteen times under yours just to beat you by less than a dollar. Put in your proxy bid and let it ride.

It appears to me that n***l only bid once.

That is just the ebay system automatically upping n***l's bid as others bid against him/her until it reached his/her maximum bid of $400.

That is why I pointed out that if n***l waited until the end to place the one time bid of $400 he/she most likely would have won the pulley for less or if the bid had already exceeded $400 (and that is all he/she was willing to pay) then there would be no need to bid at all.

The only time I proxy bid early is if I know I cannot be online at the end of a bid, like when I am going to be in a meeting or traveling.

edit - I take some of that back it looks like he bid 5 times....

All for a pulley? Got to admit that it is the nicest looking pulley for a buell that I have seen, especially with the PM rims. I don't think I have seen one for sale for quite awhile, maybe a couple years. Maybe this will cause someone to start making them again. At least a limited run. It is fun to watch and listen.

Man I'm spending waaay too much time on this, but I have some time to kill before my meeting. Anyway, I don't know what the increment number is but it seems that n**l is erratic in their bidding and some of them are just seconds apart and others are lower bids after someone else has proxy bid. With them having a "1" after their name they are obviously new at this. While I don't e-bay a lot I figure what the item is worth to me, add in the shipping and place a bid. I then either get an e-mail saying I won or lost, no biggie.

I see they now have it at $461, wonder if they'll actually go through with it or if we'll see it listed again in a week?

Edit: Ahhh, just saw this just above the bids: Only actual bids (not automatic bids generated up to a bidder's maximum) are shown. Automatic bids may be placed days or hours before a listing ends. Learn more about bidding.

Did it occur to any of you that n***l ( 1 ) is snookering the rest of the bidders…could it be that he is a friend of the seller trying to ensure if he (the seller) does not get what he wants for it, he keeps it without displaying a “buy it now” or a “reserve”.

That’s why n***l has no feedback and posted a target for everyone to shoot for….

By the way, pulley teeth are not the consumable here, it is the belt.
