...but I'm starting to act like an HD owner, and coming up with excuses not to ride my tubers. <shudder> Now that there's salt on the roads - LOTS of salt, MD has gone a little overboard, methinks - I'm pretty much grabbing the Uly every time I ride, and leaving my beloved tubers in the nice, clean, salt-free garage. Hell, I put a Buell race exhaust on the S1W nearly 2 weeks ago and haven't even ridden it yet!! Until this year (bought the Uly in April 08), I'd ride the S2, weather (and road seasonings) be damned. Now, I just feel guilty if I do - the Uly is EFI, no chrome moly frame tubes, all powdercoated aluminum and injection molded plastic, no paint.... Anyone else get this way in winter? Anyone else who keeps riding because they're too dumb to come in out of the cold, that is? |

It's snowing here, but not it's melting when it hits the ground. My S2 has been sitting out front like a yard dog with no doghouse, waiting on me to come and warm her up. Here I come Priscilla; we'll be in the road in a few minutes... |

I feel ya bro. I've got a cover at home that I got with the bike, but I'm at my brother's house right now, so she's naked in the weather ATM. |

Sorry don't mean to brag but my X1 is nice and polished, fresh fluids, and sucking on the battery tender in a heated garage...just waiting for a >45F day to go out and play.. |

I am like you regarding the salt here in the Peoples Republic of NJ. I have the harness for my electric gloves on my Lightning and Road King but I don't want my paint, polished aluminum & chrome exposed to the salt. If its above 30 and not salty, I'm Ok for at least short hops around the neighborhood. |

When I was younger I did not give a rats A-- but now with all the cleaning and customizing and expensive parts I wait till all the sand and nasty salt is washed off the roads. Who wants to come around a corner on the low side and discover a sand patch waiting for your front tire. Hey just another opinion right. |

You guy's should live in northern lower michigan, we have two feet of snow. All we can do is drink lots of beer and dream of warmer days. |

I live in Utah TRUST ME I FEEL YA! Some winters its bad, I remember the national guard had to come in and help remove so much snow with tractors graders and bulldozers. It was piled all over the city in 25' piles, A couple of years ago there was an ice and snow storm. Cars were stuck for 2 weeks, It took hours of digging to get out. They only got moved because the city started threatening people with towing cars and impounding them, Some people didnt have any way to get out. The city made lots of $$$ and there were a lot of cars at the auction later in the spring. |

Yup, it's winter. And even if I wanted to, I couldn't ride. Damn this thing for being broke and not having other Buellers around to come give me a hand and help me out. I would ride, as long as there's no salt on the roads. |
