Hey guys ive been talking with a seller down in china making fairly decent carbon body stuff and i purchased a front fender from this seller and it was real nice and it only cost me $100 bucks. Go to e-bay and type buell x1 and it will pop up all the stuff they got and look for eastcarbon as the seller. Ask the seller a question and mention my name preybird1 and ask for a discount! You might get one. I got item. Was a little damaged in shipping but it was minor and i still used the item and the seller said they will send me new one no charge and i can keep the damaged one!! | ||

Anyone who rides a buell is welcome to be my friend! funny wile_coyote im on this forum a lot because i stand in front of computer all day so i got time to cruise internet all day! well the quality of this is not to bad it is real carbon fiber with black fiberglass reinforced with epoxy. | ||

Ditto what Brettx1 said - I got a tank cover and it's ill fitting and absolutely worthless. Total crap. I imagine a fender would be safe enough, but caveat emptor if you ever order something a bit more complex. The chinese carbon ebay sellers come and go on a regular basis, and the only constant seems to be the overall low quality of their products. Tons of threads here on badweb regarding them for anyone who cares to search on them. | ||

What you have is a fiberglass part with one sheet of CF layed and epoxyed onto the part. They are tons heavier and far less superior than their real CF made counter parts. A real CF piece will be all CF and have to have been made using a vacuum and a autoclave... | ||

You got that right these bikes a so funnnnnnnnn. And ive been a lifelong jap bike rider. and i have more fun now than before. I would actually consider getting into racing these beastly bikes. I was looking.. at pardon what i just typed the honda cbr1000rr and its weight was 839lbs dry holy s!#@ the buell x1 is only 437lbs. man a little 250cc ninja is 304lbs. i like these bikes even more now once i saw this. | ||

Russ, your enthusiasm is great but you need to check your numbers brother, there probably wasn't ever CBR that weighed that much, well, maybe a '89 Hurricane 1000 was close. Our bikes are heavier than most of the big fours'. -Mike | ||

cbr1000rr= 2004-present. Actual DRY weight of an x1 is just a touch under 440, isn't it? The quickest way to lose weight would be to fab a diff. tail section. That hunk weighs about as much as a passenger! LOL CF looks great though. Right CHASE~!? | ||

I just went off the vin plate on the frame and is says 839 lbs gvw so i dont see it i see your ling and i personally saw the bike because i was gonna buy it I test rode it. It felt ok. BUT THEN I GOT THIS BUELL INSTEAD IM GALD I DID. | ||

I have over $5000. dollars worth of REAL LIGHTWEIGHT,HIGH STRENGTH Carbon Fiber on one of my bikes.NONE of which is from 'El CHEAPO CHINA.From quality Countries like Italy and S.Africa I take it's inherent properties seriously. A sheet of CF laid over fiberglass is useless,fake bling. 839lbs. is the TOTAL weight including passengers that the frameset is rated for. | ||

Well bandm You are right on the numbers sorry about incorrect information i posted everyone. And thanks for the correction bandm it was the total weight of the bike. (loaded) not just sitting by itself! Still i like this x1 better when i was testing the cbr. I felt like i was riding a fatboy. It felt awkwardly wide! But it was ok. |
