This one.

OEM shifter is such a CRAP, feels homemade.
I am just worried it is for later X1s since I know they changed shifters around 2001/2002?

They are GREAT. Top quality. I have their shifter and brake, as well as their tail-piece eliminator and oil filler. All great stuff, and worth the money.

Banke shifter is the single best improvement i did to my 99 x-1. the newer x-1's have the updated shifter so the banke is not so needed. I second what Jayvee said.

Mine's 2000 and it SUCKS.
So surely it is same as 99?

The stock shifter change was 2001. Banke makes one similar, to update the early bikes to later style, but with Banke quality. Or the original style Banke shifter/brake, which I had to buy an X1 mount so I could use with a chin fairing on my 2000 M2. They do polish up really nice.

The Banke is a very nice mod, though pricey. I just got the Buell updated version for about half the price. I added the oil lite bushings and am quite pleased w/ the results. Very tight and precise, a substantial improvement over the awful looking wrap around.

don't know about pricey for a banke. when i called the dealer in topeka,KS which according to some is THE DEALER i was told 4 weeks and money up front for a newer x-1 shifter. I had a banke off ebay from a member here for about what buell wanted and no 4 week wait.. good luck getting the updated shifter from buell!

That's a bit surprising Tom_b, the Buell web-site shows it, along with several other Buell parts sites.

Forgot to mention those bushings from American Sport Bike, they even helped the Banke. Those are cool.

The x-1 mount is a two-piece affair, the chin-fairing goes sandwiched in between the two pieces. And right, the shifter arm is a bit longer too.

It's not pricey if you compare a used Banke against a new Buell version. When you go new vs. new it's twice as expensive. The 4 week wait seems odd. I had mine thru the HD dealer in 4 days. My dealer also gave a 20% discount. It's also available on a number of web-sites.

Call Banke direct. I got mine in a couple of days. I've had it over two years and love it. Check with Al at American Sport Bike, he carries them.
