The weather broke enough to take a nice ride Sunday -- and the Odometer hit 10,000. I was pretty diligent getting the dealer to do the regular maint. while the bike was under warranty. Change my oil and tranny oil regularly. Anything I should be looking at? Isolators -- belt - wheel bearings etc. Thanks -- Bob |

Bob The usual, pay attention to you throttle cables at the carb bracket, I flush my brake fluid every year, inspect the front motor mount bolts and the swing arm bushings. Joe |

I thought that was pretty good karma from Bad_karma. If you haven't flushed your brake fluid in a while, you'll be surprised when you do. I suggest a service manual if you don't have one yet. It has the service intervals and procedures the dealer uses. One thing I do every other oil change is check the oil pump drive gear for uneven wear. It's not hard to drop the pump and take a look inside if you have a small penlight. |

Bogie -- I HAVE been tempted by the thought of a new Kawasaki Concours -- but at this moment in time I'd have to sell the Thunderbolt to afford it. Then I'd be stuck riding something ALL the time that sounds like a teapot -- kind of like your FJR -- maybe we could ride together and serve tea for two -- |

Newbie question here- .....inspect the front motor mount bolts and the swing arm bushings.... what am I looking for when I "inspect"? Thanks! |
