I used red Loctite for the bolts going into the cylinderheads when I installed a billet mount and they have not moved in 3 years. I never had a problem with the old mount and bolts and I remember they were still torqued when I removed them. The theory that the bolts were loosening before they broke has been proposed before... I think there may be merit in the idea, but smarter men than me have poo-pooed it. I propose that there may be more than one cause for this unfortunate phenomenon.

P.S. I do not intend on ever using the term 'poo-pooed' ever again.

It is hard to believe that there are no bolts available that would hold up better. There is a product from Germany that mounts from the top iso bolt to the engine mount between the heads. It keeps the front motor mount from rocking by moving the top of the mount in concert with the head bolts. I am going to try it, but I would still like to find better bolts. I like the idea of stainless but I am not sure they would be as strong as the factory bolts. I never had this problem, but I am always looking for ways to bulletproof.

weld? lol no. if it would break after that it would take part of your head with it, lol

i just hope it doesnt break again after i put it back together. the thing that has me worried is that the previous owner snapped the front mount on the shifter side once already, either my bike has one wicked motor, or its not adjusted in the frame correctly.

anybody know where to buy that strut that goes from the front isolator to the middle motor mount?

Forget the bolts.
Get some studs and nuts from ARP or the like and run them in tight with green Loctite and you can forget about the bolt breakage problem.
