Does anybody know if footpegs from an XB Lightning will fit on an X1? Looks like if they do it buys about an inch in legroom. Or know of any other way to lower the footpegs on an X1?

bbb I believe that is a no they will not fit as is

I believe the old S2 peg lowering kit would fit a 99-00 X1. Not so about 01-02 models (maybe?).

The kit lowers (or raises) the pegs about an inch on the S2's and M2's I've seen them on.

Check out the X1 Millenium edition footpegs I picked up a set a few years ago rather cheap from Buell. Somewhere in the archives are the part numbers
