About 6 weeks ago, the oil cap popped off the oil tank at high speed and blew all the oil out. By the time I caught it it was too late! I went to Sturgis on my softail and checked out the Ulysses and a V-rod. Neither of them has the cargo capacity of the S3T.
So it looks like total rebuild time...1250 kit, smoothbore Mikuni carb, Zipper's oil pump, and knife-edged flywheels.
Any other sugestions...I want a dependable, torquey sport-tourer.

As one S3 owner to another -- did you say dependable?

Yes I did. So far the only real problem had been the fuel injection, and I pulled that off for a CV carb.
