I would like to change heads on a 2K X1 while doing a gasket job. I am leaning toward the current 1200R Heads but have heard good things about the XB's. Any input, opinions, recommendations? Thanx

IIRC the XB and Sportster heads are the same--except the Sportster ones have the bosses drilled out for your carb/FI mounting/breather bolts. Pretty sure that is what is on my 1250.

Be careful!
You might improve the breathing enough to confuse the computer.
You might have to spend money on a dynotune to remap the thing after you're done.
(or you get a carb.....)

The sportster heads cost about 80-90 bucks more each though ... I opted for the XB heads, drilled and tapped for the carb/air cleaner bracket ... XB heads match the Buell cases and cylinders much better, IMO

Unless you want shiny black heads with a machined silver edge on the fins - then go with the Sporty heads .. Other than that, Jim is right exact same internally ...
