Pulled my wheels to replace tires and bearings. The rims looked bad so I polished them up a bit (not super polished). Was going to paint them but changed my mind. What should be done before replacing them? Do they need some sort of clear coat?? These are the late model 3 spoke cast alum. wheels. Had this posted in the KV but no response. THANKS

You can run them with or without a clear coat. In my opinion it would be better to run them with primer and paint but it's your Buell. The clear coat will give the wheels some protection from road debris and rain but if you later decide to paint them it will need to be removed. KK

Probably. The bad thing on wheels is that the brake pads are continuously showering the wheels with brake pad dust and your rotors and pullys [or sprockets] are in the way when cleaning around the hubs.
