Howdy All, I am the new proud owner of a 2000 M2, and like most of you, I do not like the bread box air cleaner. Looking at the front of the air cleaner there is a bracket that mounts from front head to the bread box. My question is, what have all of you done with the bracket?

Thanks in advance.

My friend told me that he was going to mount a sprung hula doll there but I don't think he did yet.

Cheaper way to go is to get a front mount for an X1 - it does not have the extra arm .. or just cut and grind/file the extra ... I have an X1 piece in gloss black waiting to go on my M2 ... I have a custom front mount on my S1 (XB heads) thanks to Steve Mackay ...

If you replace it- make sure to replace the two bolts that attach it to the head, can't/shouldn't reuse them

Was jsut scanning e-bay and came across the X1 mount ->> http://cgi.ebay.com/Buell-front-engine-mount_W0QQitemZ170116866361QQihZ007QQcategoryZ35572QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Paul,
Cut off the extra and rounded to shape. Painted flat black to go with the black engine.

I glued a deer whistle to the bracket. It stayed on for a couple years and vibrated off. I got a billet NRHS mount now and run the extra locating link (like on an X1). You can install an extra link on the stock mount, btw. The frame is already drilled for it.

I just left it. Tell everybody that where the government approved air system used to go.
