Check all around for something contacting it - rear fender plastic, front pulley cover...see if it changes with throttle load, too. I had a rub on my S1W, but only on decel when the slack of the belt was on the top...it would rub the inside of the fender/belt guard. Accel, no problem because the slack was on the bottom side. Also check your belt for signs of scratching/rubbing and make sure you don't have any chips or chunks missing. Doubtful, but a good excuse to check   Naustin Posted on Thursday, May 24, 2007 - 10:21 am:        Could it be a wheel bearing? Make sure the seal in the front pulley is still there and the bearing hasn't started to walk.   Ratbuell Posted on Thursday, May 24, 2007 - 11:31 pm:        My mainshaft 5th bearing went out, as the mainshaft walked towards the belt and the gears acted up (giving me 2 ratios at once, and a BIG pucker when the wheel locked up). Check for alignment of belt on the pulleys and wheel alignment. With luck it will be something simple.
