Anyone have any comparisons (noise, power, lifespan) between the stock S1W header with SS2R V&H can, versus the Force pipe? Now that I have the S2, I'm thinking of going a bit wilder/louder with the S1W since it's not a "daily" bike anymore. Also, any input on how the Force survives with header wrap? The S1W is all stock, except for CF air cleaner, Thunderslide, race ignition and the SS2R. Thunderstorm 101/90 motor. Any input or experience is much appreciated, thanks! | ||

Force is second only to the KT exhaust as far as how loud it is ... (in other words - it's loud ... MUCH louder than a V&H) You will lose a little grunt in the lower RPM's with the Force, but will gain a little on the top. Might want to do some dyno-tuning after install of a Force pipe. It will probably require re-jetting. I have mine wrapped, it should hold up pretty good considering the Force pipe is already ceramic coated, done right it should hold up just fine. As far as wilder -- it is damn loud .. people always look and wonder how such a loud sound can come from that little ol' S1 ... (at least I assume that is what they think .. it's either that or "Look at that obnoxious guy on that obnoxious sounding bike !!") | ||

I have a Force system on my S3T. It is way too loud. Gives me a headache unless I wear earplugs, and I have 60% hearing loss already. Worst part is, the bike studders and stumbles at any thing less than 3000 rpm runs great over 3000. My advice, buy something else....anything else. | ||

I have an S1 that had a stock header with a SuperTrapp on it. Now have a Force pipe and love it. I'm told its loud but it doesn't bother me inside my full face helmet. Bike runs great but Brian's suggestion about the Dyno is good advice. I have not rejetted since installing the new pipe and the bike runs very strong. If you purchase one used, count on welding up the crack that will have occurred at the front mount which needs to be cut off anyway. Use the updated mount available from Force or a stainless band clamp which is a lot cheaper and works fine. | ||

Daddyhog - if you have stumbling and studdering I would think something else is going on ... I'd look at re-mapping the ecm on your bike (or a tps reset if the F.I.'d tubers worked that way -- both of mine are carbed so I can't say which for certain) .. A loss down low is a given on basically a straight pipe (which the Force is) .. haven't heard much about stumbling below 3k with the Force unless the carb was rejeted or ecm re-mapped to accommodate the extra flow of the Force. | ||

I have a Force on my X1 and it does the exact same thing below 3000 RPM. It seems like it is loading up when you try to accelerate below 3000 RPM. I have the Race ECM and a K&N filter. I'm glad I'm not the only one that has had this problem. | ||

Forcewinder intake, completely worked CV carb, and Force pipe on my 2000 M2. Probably even running a little rich with a 48 pilot jet...gonna try a 45 if I ever get around to it. I won't hardly ride below 2700 RPMs with this thing. Vibration is the problem for me, mostly. It had a Hypercharger intake, stock carb, and a White Bros. muffler when I bought it. Only rode with that a few times, but it felt like way too much "jump" for me at low rpm's. Didn't like it at all. Much more controllable powerband (and loud) now. | ||

Had a force on my 00 s3, despite the mapping, powercommander, hunting for issues like voltage drops ect ect, I had major drivability issues. Traded for a buell race exhaust, and instantly solved 90% of the problem. The force creates havoc with the 02 sensor feedback. Not the pipe for a FI motor unless your drag racing. | ||

Do you think a 4 wire O2 sensor would make a difference? I am running the stock single wire with my Force now. | ||

The four wire (Bosch) made a huge difference on my '01 S3. At the time I felt it was worth the expense. |
