Sorry if this has bee covered 1000 times but I am brand new to the site and this looked like a good place to start. Just picked up a Race ECM Supertrapp can and Forcewinder Intake for my 2000 FI S3. I have heard that I will have to have the TPI reset --- any other mods I should be aware of? Thanks Brokeneck Colorado

as far as mounting the parts mentioned - you will be all set with just mounting, resetting and riding!
Welcome to the site and post some pictures - we like pictures!
Oh, and it is a TPS - Throttle Position Sensor, but we knew what you meant ;)

Those parts all bolt on very easy as Scott said. The TPS reset should cost you an hour of labor at any shop. (apparently 1 hour is the minimum they charge you for) The actual procedure takes 5 minutes, FYI.

Congrats on the S3. Scott's is a 1999 and mine is a 2001.

If the Forcewinder didn't come with provisions for the closed loop breather system, you'll have to fab or buy a catch-can and find a place to mount it. Some people just run the breather hoses to the ground, but a proper catch-can is just more prudent.

I remember having a hell of a time getting my stock exhaust off without the bike elevated. You'll have to find a way to raise the bike up to get enough clearance to swivel the muffler down to clear the mount. I did this by levering the bike up on the kickstand with one hand, and removing the muffler with the other. At one point though, the bike almost fell on me... don't try it alone!

2 jack stands on the passenger pegs
invest with Al at American Sport Bike for the software kit
do your own TPS and usefull for diagnostics.

Welcome to the madness!

Oldog,

Can you provide a link or more information on the software kit?

Thanks,
