Yesterday was our first warm dry weekend day, so a small group of Harleys and myself headed out for a half day ride. We ended up in a great little town called Yellow Springs.

While walking up and down the main drag, we came across a familiar face!

Dave Chappelle! (who happens to live near Yellow Springs) While I'm sure he absolutely hates fans bothering him... I had to go talk to him for a bit and shake his hand.

Good times!

We got about home and I stopped by the river to snap a few pictures. Nothing special, but I chopped and trimmed the tail Saturday night, and I wanted some pictures of it now.

Then today I headed out for another 50 miles or so and ended up at Iron Pony to pick up some lightweight riding gloves. (Which I ended up getting a great pair of Teknic gloves for under $20 on closeout!)
When I came out I couldn't believe it! 3 bikes at the place... and 2 of them were Buells!!! A beautiful Firebolt was sitting next to my Cyclone!

I headed over to Farrows HD to order a clutch cable to have as a spare for MB4, and headed home.

By this time I was a little worried that I may have forgotton to but the petcock back on ON, since I was up to 160 miles on this tank, but I double checked and it was ON and there was gas in the tank, so I proceeded.

Sitting at a Red light a block from my house, it finally ran out of gas and shut off. I promptly turned it to reserve, fired it up, and cruised to the gas station.

Turns out I go on reserve after 3.3 gallons, which gives me 1.7 gallons. That's a bit higher than I would perfer, but not so high as to justify taking apart the petcock anytime soon.

Turns out I averaged almost exactly 50 mpg over the weekend that consisted of about 100 miles at 60mph, and 50 miles at 75 mph.
Works for me!

Now that it's warming up a bit, I'm feeling more comfortable leaning over. I'm slowly getting a feel for this bike, I can't wait for MB4!!!

Yellow Springs is a nice little town. Went there specifically for the bike riding (peddle power this time) pre-Buell era. They have a great rails to trails on the Little Miami. Chappelle is actually from Yellow Springs. He was spotted there while he was supposed to be broken down in Africa somewhere. I think a friend of his owns a bier stube we ate at. Great food and yes good times. Hopefully I can make it up there on my X1 sometime. Nice pics by the way.

Mikef5000:
I like your bike! Not for sure why...

Glad to see you finished up your handguards. Are the foglights still working well for you?

Took me a minute to see what you mean by "chop and trim". I'm so used to everybody taking off that big license plate hanger, it's sort of "normal" for it not to be there. I'm guessing you meant that.

Nice bike!
