Same noise my S3 made when the clutch basket retaining nut came loose?

Is it a chattering sound? If so, I just went through this, clutch lever pulled -went away ... it could be a number of things, bad spring plate, worn friction discs, or warped discs - my problem was the latter - warped discs, this was apparently caused by the clutch overheating (heavy blue coloring on the steels)

Could maybe do a clutch adjustment first and see where that leaves you, if it's still there you'll have to pop it all open and inspect the clutch for what I described above.
