Remember when they mocked Buell for having the muffler under the bike? In one magazine, they called it a Pep boys muffler. I don't think it was the placement as much as the grade of steel used. It didn't take long for them to completely rust over and look like CRAP. | ||

I tried the antiseize method on my muffler. It kinda worked. Kinda didn't. Amazingly, it never failed to work as a jacking point. | ||

I sent the muffler of my '06 Uly off to Jet Hot. It stayed black after that. | ||

I missed the anti-seize method, what is it? I always put anti-seize on the joint. | ||

The anti-seize method is basically just coating the entire muffler with the stuff. I can't remember who did it first and posted about it here on BadWeb. I thought WTH, why not give it a shot. It baked on, hardened, then flaked off in spots, probably because I put it on too thick. Not exactly the best method, but like I said, it kinda worked. Sending it off to Jet Hot like Crusty did would have been better, but I was looking for a cheap fix... | ||

For a "Cheap Fix" my friend and I found sanding down the rust, and then painting it with Rustoleum Grill Paint worked just fine. | ||

On my second Buell I made a Magnaflow fit and went with a Drummer tune in a race ecm. | ||
