After reading about Ray I thought I'd give an update. My Doc appt. last week was good. X-rays say I'm healing faster than expected. I had partial weight accepted for last week and full weight this week. The PT doesn't think so. I still need the knee brace but I'm walking with a rollator. I had to modify it to get the grips higher so we went to my shop where I discovered one of the wheels was missing a wheel bearing! I made a Delrin bushing and pressed it in. By the time I got to drilling more holes in the handlebars I was getting dizzy. My leg was swelling and turning purple. I barely got the holes drilled before I had to sit down. Our maintenance guy came in and finished the job for me. I just had to sit down and cool off for a while. It's amazing how much strength you lose after being on your ass for a month! Anyway the rollator now fits me and I'm getting around pretty good. In another week the collarbone should be good enough for me to use crutches. So improving fairly quickly. Thanks again for the prayers and kind words. They work! Thanks for the cards too! My mantle is full!!

I'm walking without any cane, just a knee brace. I've been driving too! It's so nice to be around people again!! I've been going to physical therapy for the last 3 weeks. Back to the Dr. on Tuesday. I'm hoping the knee brace comes off. I still have some pain in the shoulder but the leg seems good to go! Buelltoberfest is looking very possible!

Live is getting better! Dr. now says I'm fully healed bone wise. I only need the brace if I'm lifting or doing anything I shouldn't!! It's mainly for lack of muscle supporting the knee so I'm working on that. Cheers!

Thanks everybody! Tomorrow will be my first ride on the Buell. There's a car show next weekend and my car is in storage so I need to trade vehicles in the storage unit. So it'll just be 5 miles of back roads but I'm still looking forward to it. I won't be riding any distance for a while. I know how weak my right leg is and how stiff it gets if I'm in one position for too long. I have also found if I overexert myself or get too hot I get real dizzy! I actually passed out from it once! That was a few weeks back and I had made it to a seated position before I went out. My nurse had to hold me there till I came back around. It was only 20 seconds or so but it let me know how puny I have gotten. So hopefully that's all behind me but I'm not going to push it.

Jeez. Please be careful. Make sure you are well enough, even for a short ride. Don't risk putting yourself in a bad position.

For the record, Tpehak was saying there's a 15 MPH speed limit in a roundabout. Well buddy, here in Illinois there are signs at roundabouts and they say 20 MPH. On top of that the sign is yellow and in Illinois that means it's only a suggested speed limit which means there really is no speed limit in a roundabout! With a fully loaded Road Glide I'm sure I wasn't close to even 20. I was not in a hurry at all. Kind of wish I was, I might have beat the truck though!

Greg, Ipecak is Badweb's pet troll. He'll find (or manufacture) anything he can to try to screw up any thread. The best thing to do is ignore him.

If you were below 20mph then it is the other driver fault.
