Since this abandoned by a crack addict laptop was given to the FBI to investigate, but is currently at an unknown location, the only people that can verify the contents given out are authentic is... The people hiding it. To protect the guilty.

That it was Hunter's is now verified by his lawyers.

So, a court, or Congress, must subpoena the FBI to produce it. Which they won't.

I expect FBI raids on multiple lawyer's homes over this.

After all, possession of a copy of Hunter's laptop and Epstein's blackmail videos, are kiddie Porn violations.

So I also expect more murders.

https://pjmedia.com/columns/paula-bolyard/2023/02/ 03/breaking-explosion-reported-in-skies-over-monta na-video-n1667806

I'm reminded of the news blackout about Japanese incendiary balloons that started a forest fire in the Northwest ( wood a strategic resource ) in WW2. Logically, the military didn't want the enemy to know that the things worked. With no results, the Japanese stopped. People died and it was covered up.

Different times, different circumstances.

The balloon owners know how valuable the take is from their instruments. I don't, but they do. So keeping it secret isn't keeping any secrets, from Them.

Not sure what message Xi the dictator of China took from this week's balloon drama. Lots of editorials about it.

I noticed no reports, so far, of Generals declaring they'd warn China if the senile puppet in the White House was going to attack, like some arguably treasonous one did a few years ago when The Bad Orange Man was Prez.

And there's allegedly several "civilian weather research" balloons up over North America, still, today.

Me, I'd have helicopters in the area to track the falling gondola, and use a F-15 to zoom climb up and pop the balloon with non explosive 20mm bullets. Low drama for the population, if challenging to the crews.

We shoot down their spy balloons, they shoot down our spy satellites. Bad trade. Not to mention the orbital debris. The entire world has known what our nuclear missile sites look like since the 60s. Besides, the Chinese have the second largest fleet of spy satellites in operation. I can’t seem to get worked up about this.

True. But it's the optics of it. We're letting the ccp piss in our rose bed. Satellites? Theory. We "know" about them but they aren't VISIBLE to the naked (civilian; public at large) eye. This, is.

It's not if you get worked up. Xi doesn't care what you and I think.

It's the "message" Xi & Putin gets...

"We provoked, obviously lied, they dithered and dared not call us on it." Is a clear message that next week they can shoot down an airliner full of civilians over the South China Sea, leaving Japan for Free Taiwan, and Joe's* response to THAT determines the timing of the amphibious landing and biological weapons distraction. Or Vladimir nuking Berlin.

The Neocons, Clinton/Obama, Slick Willie, and LBJ "sent messages" by bombing countries, often with delusional expectations.

I'm pretty Jacksonian on this subject. It's really stupid to use deadly force to "send messages" other than surrender to save your Swiss bank accounts. I remember Vietnam. LBJ's belief that bombing and stopping before inflicting serious damage would send the message we want to negotiate a peace, was interpreted as Johnson desperately wants to quit and let Hanoi win.

If you use violence, you'd better have a plan to win, quickly and efficiently, brutally, to minimize civilian and your own casualties.

Half way and stop is how you lose and unnecessarily kill people.

The balloon idiocy looks like Joe* might still be a loyal employee of the CCP. ( Which pays better than his day job ) but his puppeteers in the West Wing respond to polls and are untrustworthy. ( from Xi's viewpoint )

Klain just left, so the new Chief of staff is consolidating power, and vulnerable to pressure? ( again, from Xi's perspective ) So a good scandal making the Obama administration 3 Staff scramble for cover might be the best tactic. And they're all corrupt commie jerks that Xi has dirt on.

Another "suicide" or three for kiddie Porn reasons, would get scant mention in the Party Media here, but get opposition out of Xi's way and provide great propaganda in China and Russia. "See how corrupt and cowardly they are"...

Write your own scenario...

Nerve gas on Kiev, gas pipeline explosions cutting off Europe, nuke Helsinki?

Hey, I could be wrong! After all, the winds and weather over the Pacific and Americas are of vital interest to the CCP.

A hypothetical multi megaton H bomb off Seattle to create a radioactive tsunami, mega quake, and fallout footprint the desired shape takes good and current data to time properly. Just saying.

But you don't need to get that pessimistic to see how effective a few balloons can be on the politics of the Enemy.

Meme time!

https://victorygirlsblog.com/yes-we-should-be-conc erned-about-chinas-balloon-gambit/

So we have balloons crossing the country, and that means they've dropped ballast to maintain altitude, all across America and Canada.

They've been maneuvering. Balloons don't have propellers. They maneuver by going up & down. They go down by valving off gas. Up by dropping ballast. ( or have an internal balloonete you PUMP air into & let out with Another valve. And a Pump. & Batteries. )

There's a severely limited amount of compressed gas you can carry to replace leakage, and deliberately valved off lifting gas. Tanks, even carbon fiber ones, are heavy. Compressed gas is heavy. ( heavy enough they sell some by weight ) So every gas balloon since Charles in France, drops ballast to stay up. Physics.

There are alternatives! Heaters. Batteries, or Plutonium. Propane isn't practical at 100,000 feet, plus if your lifting gas is Hydrogen, um, not good.

Nope.

To be fair, I could design a hybrid super pressure balloon that used very little ballast, a big Plutonium thermal/ionic generator for lift & to power the massive radio receivers & satellite transmitter. But there's at least 5 government agencies that would absolutely forbid it, and a couple that would murder me resisting arrest to stop me from building one. And I'm not joking. They wouldn't risk a public trial.

( weird flying things has been a hobby of mine for half century. I've worked with the FAA & FAI on competitions. See note H )

But, China. Government. Evil. And Absolutely not caring how many die. Especially here.

So let's assume the simple, easy, cheap, disposable, system. After all, it's million$ in payload they are planning to throw away, and even Chinese scientists have budgets.

Just look at how they cheaped out the Wuhan biological weapons lab.

So, details matter. I have to design a ballast system. ( with some compressed hydrogen tanks ) Traditionally, ballast is sand. Sand is cheap. Sand, carefully graded and dried. Because you aren't taking handfuls out, you trickle it through a valve. Can't let that freeze. So you can't use water. Or alcohol. Iron shot works. Lead shot works. ( the FAA won't let me use buckshot, but China, screw you, innocent civilians. ) So do discrete weights. ( olde school, entire sand bags. Or bombs. ) Or rodent bait pellets. Or rodents. ( been done. Incendiary carrying bats, to drop over Japan, hide under roofs etc. )

After all ballast can be payload.

Scattered over the country, sea to sea.

You could use frozen plague rats, they'd survive the fall, ( cube square law ) and thaw out or be eaten. Or rodent food pellets with plague packets. Those would be easy to build a dispenser for. ( frozen rat dispenser design I leave as a challenge for you )

Sure, this sounds nuts. But I point out these balloons already DO DROP BALLAST ALL ACROSS THE CONTINENT, so using weaponized ballast is just, logical.

And the above ignores the gondola/surveillance system. MSNBC will assume it's just to count Trump supporters by tapping their wifi, or something else that they like, spying on the evil military.

And that is probably true. The one they shot down probably didn't have a nuke optimized for EMP attack. This time. Probably. We won't be told.

....

Note H.
There's a lot of paperwork, and several phone calls to "assistant Secretary" level, to get airspace closed for a hang glider meet. They have to issue a NOTAM ( notice to airmen ) to civilians and military to avoid an area in New Mexico from ground level to... Space. Unlimited altitude. And a blanket clearance for competitors to break the IFR only 18,000 foot limit. Into the jetways. We just have oxygen masks, not full suits so no one is going up past Death Pressure @ 40,000, but you still want to avoid conflict with military jets. Took 8 months. All good, no incidents, and I have some odd phone numbers on my rolodex. Like NORAD. I had to talk to a Sergeant every day of the meet @ Cheyenne mountain.

Welp, the pundits are having fun. No one talks about the FBI searching Joe's* stuff, and I've enjoyed doodling balloon designs.

It stretches my suspension of disbelief to think this whole thing is the CCP distracting us from Joe's crimes. I don't think their loyalty goes that direction, he's a paid servant, disposable, not a partner.

But I am curious what crimes didn't get reported while we read about this week's balloon drama. Did they release the Epstein videos? ; ) Superbowl commercial blaming cancer on Trump? Crack fish kill in Delaware?

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2023/02/whi te-house-claims-credit.php

Balloongate?

My initial take is that the Occupation is a bunch of pathological liars, but that's just fact based on past performance and acts, nothing new. Joe* lies about everything, reflexively. Lying about themselves and family is their SOP for Hillary & Joe*.

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2023/02/for -we-can-lie.php

And the story "evolves" as various people not read into the official Pravda speak, and they meld partial facts with their desire to look good. And Trump bad, but the trial balloon ( pun intended ) that Chinese Spy Balloons, ( CSBs for short, ) were ignored by Donald, so Joe* ignoring them was ok, aka, he did it so I'm not evil, ran into the burning desire to not look stupid at the Pentagon.

The switch in story from "Trump did it" which was denied by many who were actually there, to "The Intelligence Community knew, but didn't tell Trump, or the government" exposed The Swamp as dishonest manipulator scum. ( true )

So we get version 5? Where they only know about past CSBs because Now they are smart, not dumb like Trump.

Actually some interesting things in that version of Lying to you.

Speculation is that by carefully tracking THIS or the other CSBs we sorted out, isolated & recorded, the signals, encrypted & unreadable, that the CSB was sending, plugged that signature into the database of radio intercepts by satellites and ground stations, and now, retroactively, see that "3 times during the Bad Orange Man's watch, they flew over". There is no advantage to admitting to, for an example, CSBs flew over 19 times during the Obama years, and 14 times since Joe* moved in.

Simply, maybe CSBs did do at least 3 fly overs those Trump years, but admitting ANYTHING ELSE doesn't serve the story. And the story is trying hard to CYA this crew.

I'm not sure the "conservative pundit" view that Joe's* bs "sends the message" to the CCP that the current White House is blistering incompetent idiots, really matters in emboldening Xi. That's not a surprise to us, or them.

Oh, I'm sure "this time" is another slide in the PowerPoint presentation being prepared by Glenn Beck and the Chinese Government to show trends and developments.

"No single raindrop thinks it's responsible for the flood"

Btw, the Pentagon says the CSB had propellers. I didn't know that! That makes a CSB a dirigible airship drone. I find that very interesting as a flying things nerd.

Not really a big deal for the Media, who lack technology knowledge, but of vital interest to the military to understand capabilities.

Fun fact! Zeppelin dirigible airships bombed England in WW1. Nearly impossible to shoot down, which changed over the war to really hard to shoot down, to too risky to fly over in daytime, to too risky to do at all.

Because of the high altitude.

Ironically it looks, TODAY, like the same cell phone saturation that makes the existence of Bigfoot look unlikely, broke the story of CSBs to the public.

A story hidden by CYA in government, before.

CSBs have previously just been discussed by aviation guys who geek out on such things, like me. UFO fans. Those midnight radio shows that talk about remote viewing and HARP transmitters making artificial auroras.

( which provides an unflattering insight, perhaps, into my obsession with the subject ; ) )

https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/roswell-and- the-red-zeppelin/

One of my favorite short sci-fi stories is a propaganda meta secrets revealed joke. An eye witness account of a space capsule test gone serially wrong.

The plan was to test the capsule's structure, an ultralight blend of epoxy and mixed fibers ( now known in aviation as "composites" and among bicycle and race car enthusiasts, "carbon fiber" ) without the still in development epoxy heat shield, or unnecessary aluminum aerodynamic nose cone, by lifting it to high altitude by balloon, and recover it for the data. ( If you look at an Apollo capsule and erase the pointy nose you get a fat disk shape... )

And to test the capsule systems, why not also test the space suits? But it's too risky to send human pilots, who after all, just have to sit there & not die, and won't have any control, or function to perform, other than measuring physiological damage... Pilots cost money to train.

So, Chimps. But it's secret squirrel stuff so the space suits company gets it's measurements from the Chimp lab, who has no experience with space suits, yet, and they don't take into account... Hair.

So the suits are too tight. Ok, shave the Chimps. Chimps aren't very cooperative putting on pressure suits, so they grease the Chimps with petroleum jelly. And tranquilizers are given to Chimps and frustrated space suit technicians. That works.

So the naked, grey, greasy, stoned, Chimps go into the experimental space suits, and get strapped into the half completed experimental space capsule, and the whole mess works until the balloon is ripped open by radio control and one of the parachutes fail, so the capsule crashes off course, hitting hard, short of the planned, secret, landing zone.

Near Roswell New Mexico.

The capsule hits hard, but works, but being dragged across rocky desert beats it into pieces. The Chimps survive, and being strong and the tranqs starting to wear off, get out of their broken ultralight seats, and unzip & tear off their space suits.

Leaving the local sheriff deputies to find a debris field of exotic scrap, that NO ONE outside someplace like Grumman Aerospace or the Lockheed Skunk Works has a clue exists, and dazed, naked, grey, greasy little people with big heads and eyes wandering around who don't speak English.

Then the Air Force arrives, cordons off the area, gathers everything they can find in a hurry, and releases the preplanned cover story of... A lost weather balloon, nothing to see here, move along.

But... Witnesses! And the UFO/ALIENS rumors are already spreading.

So the General in charge decides an Alien Mystery and rumored cover up is less embarrassing than the truth of the series of mistakes that led to shaved, stoned, primates wandering around New Mexico.

Great humor sci-fi story from the 1980s!

Or maybe that's the top secret truth released in a fiction magazine to cover up the real story by actually releasing it in a form that means it's assumed not to be so...
