Liberals apparently believe that blacks commit a lot of voter fraud. I don’t know about that, but evidently a lot of Democrats do commit voter fraud, or else why would Democratic politicians and judges be so viciously hostile to any effort to promote ballot integrity? It's an article of faith among the Klan Party Leaders that blacks are too inferior to see how they are exploited. They're wrong. But that's been their attitude for centuries. | ||

As other commenters said, "Where is one verified example of anyone not able to get an ID?" It is hard to believe that local Dem organizers can't find ways to drive folks without ID to the DMV to get it. One prominent possibility is that there are none or close enough. | ||

In New York they will come to your door to give you an ID card. Free. I pay taxes for that service, so you don't have to. I'm good with that. Philosophically, I'm against being required to have an id card. See R.A.H. quotes. Practically, I damn well better have one if I'm carrying a .38 revolver. In the most gun unfriendly state. Feel free to argue with the judge. I've got various ratings and licences that I may have to produce if I want to do certain activities. My list might be different than yours, but I bet there is overlap. But, hey you don't want to produce ID, you don't have to do the activity. Like cash a check. Rent a car or hotel room. Heck, for many things you also need a credit card. Or walk home & shut up. Counter anecdote... I know guys that memorize their driver's license number, so they can give it to a cop, who will punch it in and get their driving, arrest, Carry Permit, and jerk record, and show their photo. It's not a great way to endear yourself to a cop, but it's marginally legal. You can get arrested, but you probably will get off. What is your time and arrest record worth to you? The #1 ( actual ) objection to photo ID to vote is that it makes cheating a tiny bit harder. The #1 lie about photo ID to vote is that it's a Poll Tax. An unethical, now illegal, means of voter suppression/control used, ironically, in the past in this country by the Same Party that now screams that it's racist. It was. When they did it. If you have to pay, it's true, it's a Poll tax. | ||

Hoot - yes, it is. Just like paying for a carry permit. See Patrick's quote above: "feel free to argue with the judge". I'm ok with smaller, logistical fees. Once they become discriminatory and/or oppressive (i.e. large enough to exclude entire demographic sectors)...that's where we need to say no. | ||

In 1968 the "Saturday Night Special" law was passed, banning inexpensive pistols, aka Saturday Night Specials, using a laundry list of features to determine "correctness". A ploy copied in Bill Clinton's "Assault Weapons Ban". The Walther PPK was on the naughty list. So they made the PPKs with a longer handle and added a thumb rest to the grips, bringing it into compliance with the whim. Very expensive gun. The Purpose, of course, was to take guns away from the Negro and the Other Poor. Electricity, being the product of White Supremacist Capitalist Monsters is the new target of power being priced beyond reach of the reviled classes. But guns haven't been moved from #1 on the Tyrant Priority list. Votes may be #2, as the olde Klan method of forcing registration for their Party is now replaced by deliberately mailing ballots to wrong addresses so the Party can vote for itself, stealing the votes directly from people who only find out they've been robbed when they show up in person and are denied a vote because the Party voted for them already. You can look at that as more eco friendly as it reduces cross burning. Although burning minority owned business in Sponsored Riots in 2020 really raised the carbon footprint of the Left.
