..and I'm set for "conservative" activity... Have to look at the tax effects of simply cashing it out, versus losing it all in this shithole economy. Might actually SAVE money long-run if I change it into metals and stick it in the safe for a while.... | ||

Sell low is probably a mistake. Oh, if you have repeated cases and hard data that gold purchased at this slope of, and relative value, worked out good, then feel free to gamble. Just don't imagine you aren't. Unless you really think Congress is going to steal your 401k/Retirement Fund, ( which some Congresscritters have said they want to ) or the WEF/Biden*/EU/CCP/Apple/??? New Crypto Safe Accounts ( points for best name contest!!! ) is going to steal it, then I would not cash out entirely on impulse. The above is certainly possible and maybe in progress, but that just means "they" ( say Justin Trudeau ) can freeze your banking at whim anyway, so don't worry about it.  I'd also suggest looking at the year long & 5 year & longer charts. Compared to during Barry, we aren't that bad. If you have to tap invested funds to keep afloat, it's only a 27% disaster.  Perspective may offer insight and inform urgency. Me? I paid off my credit card and bought a bicycle and paid the tax, because interest in a maxxed out card was a major expense, and... A. Things aren't getting cheaper, B. I'd spend a larger percentage of principal tomorrow, than today. My stash is shrinking, just like everyone else. That might be dumb, too. Feel free to advise. | ||
