Disingenuous rationalization. Unlike Solyndra, Tesla sells products, the sales encourages investment. Solyndra stock isn't how you get wealthy. Only the guys who bribed Barack and made the money vanish into the same black hole as other big time thieves use got rich. ( you remember, the journalist that broke the big money laundering story & was murdered? ) I don't know if Elon pulls a profit on each car, or when he started making a profit, or if the cars are a loss leader for battery packs... I could ask a friend who's a Musk fan and watches the Tesla focused YouTube guys.  But, absolutely, if you bought a Tesla you had a teeny tiny role in advancing space travel and freedom of speech. And Is that a problem? If you bought Edison products you helped create the Subsequent stuff. Light bulbs, phonographs, electric chairs. Is Elon selling murder machines to discredit the competition? Edison did. Me, I don't know if Elon is Lex Luthor or Tony Stark.  I figure I'll find out after the asteroid laser gets used. | ||

Not disingenuous. No stock, no multi billionaire. He didn’t sell cars to buy twitter, he sold stock. The meme simply isn’t accurate, as it implies the opposite. | ||

My mother had stock in AT&T as part of her retirement plan. She didn't sell communication lines, she sold stock to pay bills. No massive bundles of cables buried around the planet, no value to the stock. Ditto, no cars, no batteries, no value to the paper certificate Elon sold to buy the Twat thing. Did the loan, or money you saved, to buy the car in your driveway pay for Twitter? Not directly. If you had bought a Corvette instead, would that have prevented the purchase? Nope. But if the company hadn't sold product, or bribed Barry, Elon wouldn't have valuable stock to sell. Note I am Not accusing Elon of Bribing Barry. But that was for almost 6 years the best investment evil men could make. Some made their fortune with legitimate sales greased by bribes larger than 10 average Americans made in a year, others just moved to countries without extradition treaties, and the Tame Party Media erased them from admitted history. I note Elon is selling stuff to lots of people including governments. Are starlink satellites paying for twit? I bet "someone" would troll that... | ||
