Still working on the trailer build for the Himalayan. I have figured out how I am connecting to the axle on the bike. After looking through all my washers, I found the size I need. Problem is I only have one. Then I searched the web to find out what this special black washer is. There it was... A grade 8, 4140 washer. I ordered a pair of the grade 8 washers from Mcmaster Carr tonight.

Lucky is when your door vendor jacks the prices on the doors you have been installing 250%. Then you locate 2 un-molested 6panel wood doors stained the right color for $20 total. I have one 30" pantry door left to go. I am thinking about doing a wooden split door.

Parts so far for the mono-wheel trailer build. The yoke is going to be 2 piece with a left and right side.

The lower sleeve will have the trailer yoke welded to it. The 1/4" collar slides on between the yoke sleeve and the 5/16" pin that holds it from sliding off.The sleeve to the side will have a 5/16" hole for the pin and will protect the swingarm pivot while it is on the axle.

Bolts to the swing arm with the axle:

Yes the socket for the nut on the axle just fits:

Less rough:

Fits, but needs refined:

Made a foam seal between aluminum and filter. Then put foam seal between side cover and engine side of air box so that cooler air is drawn from the rear.

Hey Crusty,
2/3 pound thrown on a bacon grease seasoned grill. Then flipped and smashed. They will give Toasty's a run for the money.

I'm not jealous. I'm fixing 12 oz. Ribeyes over charcoal, 12 oz. baked Yukon Gold Spuds, Asparagus, biscuits (flaky layers) and beef gravy for dinner with Caramel Apple Pie a la mode for dessert. Matthew will not leave here hungry.

Those burgers do look good, though.

Dangit!! That all sounds great! M and I did tilapia and catfish tacos, also shredded chicken with mojo sauce tacos. Crunchy, tell Matthew to swing by if his logistics allow...
haven't seen any of youn's in about a coon's age.

Looks like we'll be lucky this weekend... for some awesome riding weather here in E TN! Got a full tank of gas and a good polish on the PC, plus a brand-new ME888 front tire. Yay! Tomorrow I'll be volunteering for my 3rd "Maryville Uncorked" charity wine tasting event.

Glad to hear all you guys are kicking good. RD, saw a local rider on his RE two days ago. If I end up getting another new bike someday... hmmm.

Be safe riding and driving, my friends. ; )

I need a new lawn toy. I have assembled 4 lithium 12V batteries for it. Threw out the computer. Put in 60 Amp controller bossed by my R/C transmitter. I had it pulling wheelies with me on it in the chair. Picked up a wagon to go on top. Just a little work to mate them...And I will present the Altered E-Wagon:

That... is cooler than a muddled cucumber and Hendrick's gin martini. Popcorn popping, waiting for you to pop a wheelie!!

Nuttier than a squirrel's fruitcake, too. LOL!! We actually had a sister-in-law staying with us last weekend, who has palsy. I was riding <her> chair around like an idiot, with her approval. On Halloween... with my costume. Nobody saw me....

GO brother!

Wasn't it Leslie Nielsen and O.J. in Naked Gun, one of those movies, where OJ went flying down the bleachers stairs and busted a whirling endo?? Been too long since I've seen those movies. Miss me some Shemp too. : )

How does the trailer yoke attach to the axle pivots? I picked up a piece of flat bar today. It now has a 1 1/2" hole in each end. The 1 1/2" 4130 tube will be welded in place at each end. The flat bar will be cut to length and bolted to the trailer yoke. You're going to love the reveal of the yoke. I ordered tail lights and turn signals last night. They should be here around Christmas. My goal is to build my trailer for under $100.00. Getting it a VIN., title, and plates may push it over that. So far I've had to buy 36" of 2" flat bar, 2 Grade 8 washers, 6 Lynch Pins, lights, a second himalayan axle for mock-up, and a bi-metal hole saw. Everything else has been sitting in my shed. Wait till you see my budget beating score......

It's a bit early; isn't it?

I love Christmas. It's my favorite holiday, but I don start with the decorations until right after Thanksgiving.

This year, I will be mailing out gifts a bit early. Last year, a few folks didn't get their gifts until almost a month after Christmas.

I'll start putting up lights and such on the day after Thanksgiving. While all the yahoos are mobbing WallyWorld for Black Friday booty, I'll be either outside, putting up lights on the house, or inside listening to the Time Life Treasury of Christmas music and setting up my little tree and stringing lights in the windows.

I strung the outside in dry 60 degree weather. We have Turkey day at my house. The in-laws like to take Christmas pictures for their cards. So, we decorate early and take care of their needs. My wife decorates the whole house every season. We decorate outside with snowmen and icicles. She puts ice skates and sleds on the porch. We don't put any Satan Clauses in the yard. The first warm dry day after Christmas I take down everything outside.

I have started the paperwork with the BMV to get a VIN for a home built trailer. I've filled out 4 forms and a checklist. A printed picture tomorrow and then the package gets mailed.

HOOP

If all goes well I may have a VIN in 3 weeks. Then I have to find another Officer to confirm I stamped the correct number into a piece of steel. Then I can apply for a title and register the trailer and order plates. The brake light should be here December 15th and the turn signals on January 13th. It's birthday is down as 11/08/2021.

I scored my trailer body today for $15. I've been searching for a used 24 gallon Action Packer by Rubbermaid. BINGO!

I am embarrassed by the welds. Worn out Harbor Freight with 030 flux core wire. I put a wood clamp on the drive wheel part of the welder to try and get it to feed without pausing too much. It is a challenge to make sure there is enough penetration without blowing through the 0.060" wall stuff. One of these years I'll get some good equipment again. Or work part time as a welder for a shop with nice equipment. OK, enough with the excuses.

As long as it holds, it’s a perfect weld.

BB,
Humor is great. I've been around. Funny is funny!

Zac,
I welded class A surfaces on new cars when they needed repaired at an assembly plant. My work was checked with a camera from inside the body and with-in a wave length of light on the out-side. Whole new level of perfect there. I worked my way into a lot of hats there. It was nice to be the star of the show. No Bondo, all metal. All they did when I was done was phosphate, prime, and paint. I told them I was an artist and they had me polishing turds. Like I said, "Embarrassed".

Mate, I did.

Now to take it down, then paint it. Need to shorten 6 bolts, weld a hoop to hold the action packer, mount lights and wire, then reflectorize it.
