That'll do it.

Standard grip safeties just abrade my hand in extended shooting sessions and the high rise style safeties also allow the pistol to sit lower in the hand which aids control. All that's required is a radius permanently cut into the tang and some blending.

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2021/08/g uns_germs_and_feelz.html

If Americans needed further proof that the natural right to self-preservation is toothless without the right to own weapons for one's defense, the Taliban gave another tutorial by promptly scooping up guns from the civilian population the day after seizing power in Kabul while insisting that "people no longer need them for personal protection." A Taliban official promised that "weapons for personal safety" are unnecessary since "innocent civilians" have nothing to fear. The Taliban are just putting into practice a common principle held by leftists holding power throughout the world — that law-abiding "innocents" should be prevented from owning weapons to protect themselves from the not-so-innocent who wish them harm. It's remarkable that at the same time the federal government has redefined lawful Americans who question the legitimacy of the 2020 election or government vaccine mandates as potential "domestic violent extremists" on par with the Taliban, it is Democrats' gun control policies the Taliban imitate. When the meanings of words are subordinated to the quest for power, though, it gets awfully confusing to remember who the "innocents" and "terrorists" are.

Set up a 66% IPSC rifle plate and took the 1911 out for some rapid fire exercise at 18 yards.

Hobbits can no longer get knives to fight off Orc attacks in New Zealand. Because an Orc stabbed people.

I don't mean to insult Orcs by comparing them to Islamist murderers!

And Hobbits had more freedom than the New Zealanders of today.

Don't care if the news reports it or not. If my Hellcat is there when I need it, and it saves my ass...that's all I care about.

Put 3 quick mags through it yesterday just for practice. 10 yards, 8" plate...every round in the plate. Good to see the sights haven't shifted and the laser is still lined up!

Now that the police are being defunded, you have to call the funeral home yourself when you defend yourself.

Unless you're in California where it's legal to leave $%&# on the sidewalk.

Except in front of Nancy's mansion.

I loved the False Flag "assault" on her house where the spray paint was carefully applied to the painted garage door, but left the bricks clean. This on a house with 24/7 police protection keeping bums ( you) out of her sight, & sidewalk clean.

My Cerakote job is already showing wear on the edges. Disappointing. May find a tougher finish. May just leave it alone.

Still no word on my Charter Arms revolver. Word is they have one armorer that handles all warranty issues. Great.

We have a new guy at work. He's a bit shocked at how casually and sometimes carelessly the average shooter handles their firearms...having a background in federal law enforcement. Well...yeah...

The FDE finish (factory) on my Hellcat has some wear on the high spots as well. I kinda like it, actually...

My (older, carried longer) XD-S is black, and that finish is un-scarred. I'm wondering if they're the same physical "stuff" and the black is more durable, or if the black is a completely different coating...

The Gen 5 Glocks have a diamond like coating that's about the strongest firearm finish I've seen. I wish I could have that. The later Colt USMC pistols have an ion bond that is similar. Ah, if only...

When I got my 1911 cerakoted the shop told me the finish would get harder every day, with the first month or so the most. I have a couple of small chips in the trigger guard is all. Seems pretty durable now.

Hopefully that is the case.

My Charter Arms is apparently waiting on a part.

I am regretting not sending it out to someone local.

I've LONG refused to buy/wear Levis. Foreign sourced materials, foreign assembled.

I can suggest Diamond Gusset. IT's what I buy and wear.

ALL labels of ALL clothing should be checked. Pretty easy to buy domestic.

+1

I've bought Diamond Gusset Jean's, and like them quite a bit. Allamericanclothing.com sells USA sourced and manufactured Jean's for men. They carry large sizes in a number of styles. I currently own three pairs of their carpenter Jean's and love them. The carpenters and some of the other styles have a gusset as well.

Tyndale also sells made in the USA Jeans. They are fire rated and stand up well. I bought a pair on ebay with an inseam longer than mine and had them hemmed into shorts.

You can buy USA made goods if you look!

I see that Alec Baldwin killed one person with a movie prop gun. From the story I read it appears to be a real gun. I had assumed that there were prop companies with fake guns to use. It seems incredible, even if a real gun was used, that there would be any non-blank ammo on the set. It is easy to jump to a conclusion that an arrogant dope like Baldwin would think he was too good to stay away from live ammo. On the other hand, maybe some flunky loaded the gun and didn't take enough care.

Blanks can be deadly close to the muzzle.

Ignorance on Baldwin's part, he probably never listened to a single word on gun safety and precautions. Ignorance and Arrogance are partners for many.

Report says a projectile, ( pencil? Alien saucer? ) was in the barrel and Baldwin's ignorance and stupidity didn't tell him to not point a gun at anything you don't want to Destroy. One dead, one wounded.

Pray for the families of the slain.

Have some sympathy for the arrogant fool. Even with his ego killing someone by accident might be an emotional event. And not being able to pretend it didn't happen must Really mess him up.

https://redstate.com/nick-arama/2021/10/22/new-inf o-emerges-as-one-left-dead-another-critical-in-pro p-gun-shooting-involving-alec-baldwin-n461046

Somehow a live round was on set. Major no no!

As I said above, Baldwin is highly unlikely to have any level of competence with the basic safety protocols for firearms. He's an "Actor!" trained to pretend he's a person and deliver lines written for him, memorizing them short term. He's NOT expected to do anything else, and no one else on set wants him distracted by real life & death issues, that might delay the production by forgetting his lines and choreography, or having a temper tantrum.

That's true for ANY actor, with Baldwin being a known angry git idjit with emotional issues just making it more important to coddle the man child.

The investigation is ongoing but the tragedy is probably just carelessness and a preventable accident.

Not that I mind the pundits unfairly picking on the arrogant elitist fool for the irony of an anti freedom loudmouth killing someone with a gun by accident.

Still, I do feel for him. I may change my mind if he reacts as badly to this as one may imagine a spoiled brat to.

Blake, yes, people have been killed by blanks. There are always some debris and a large volume of high speed gas. Even the wimpy rimfire starting gun blanks are potentially deadly if the muzzle is in contact with, or close to skin, just by injecting hot gas into the bloodstream.

The 5 In 1 blanks used by movies are bigger, louder, nastier centerfire cartridges designed to function in 45 Colt, 44-40, etc.

https://www.westernstageprops.com/5-in-1-blank-amm o-s/1897.htm

As are the other blank cartridges designed for .32ACP & other guns.

Iirc Brandon Lee was killed by a bullet lodged in the barrel by a real cartridge with the powder removed to look right, that the primer jammed into the barrel, and then later a blank propelled it into Lee. Simple safety checks are really important. Would have saved lives then, and with the recent death.

There should NOT be any live ammo near a movie set, unless it's on the belt of a police officer, and then, still, NOT on the set proper.
