Bloated gov't all started when DC got an endless stream of cash...Federal Income Tax, the 16th Amendment! All that endless cash that NEVER stops coming in. And they've had more of it over the last 4 years (adjusted for inflation) then ever before!!! Prior to that, DC and the Federal fools had to make do with the cash from other countries that wanted to do business with us...TARIFFS funded our Federal boys back then. If you want to kill the funding for the local dog catcher to the state funded agencies, (PA being an excellent example) stop paying your property taxes. Here in Wisconsin, it takes two years for the sheriff to own it. | ||

First, I was as upset about the storming of the Capitol, as I was the burning of the Third precinct in Minneapolis. Both represented a mob mentality and abandonment of civil order and the rule of law. I was also dismayed to hear that four people lost their lives yesterday as a result. To me, the "Best part about yesterday", was the reconvening of the joint session afterward. The objectors not being cowed, and refusing to remain silent. The votes were heard, the debate engaged, and the votes were cast. Regardless of which side of the aisle you lean, the Constitution, and our rule of law was preserved. That gives me hope for the future of our nation. But tomorrow is another day and freedom needs constant vigilance... | ||

I don't disagree with you regarding the constitutionality of the States processes Rat, but the purpose of the debate yesterday was to air those points. Which was done. Those objections were raised and the votes were cast. I am also disappointed that the votes weren't there to overturn the result, but that's the process, and has been for nearly 200 years. Individual states to varying degrees may well have subverted their own laws, but the process at the federal level did exactly what it was designed to do. I'm not willing to overthrow the Constitutional form of government I and many others have sworn to uphold. Neither will I stop demanding election integrity, transparency and accountability in government. I will re focus my talking points to be more effective in debate with opponents, be critically watchful of the new administration, and I absolutely will continue to defend the Bill of Rights, and the people who exercise them. I recall reading a quote somewhere: "When you think it's time to start burying your guns, it's actually time to dig them up." I don't think we're at the point of revolution yet, (or sedition depending on your point of view), but I'm much more mindful today of where the shovels are. | ||

I had a friend that was there and he emailed me and told me not to believe what was on tv. He said he thought it must have been the largest group ever to be in Washington DC. He said if half of them were armed they could have taken DC easily but they weren't there for anarchy, just to protest. He wasn't part of the "mob" that attacked Congress. Those folks were not Patriots, they were idiots. | ||

I actually am conflicted. I didn't want to see any unlawful conduct, just a massive gathering of people, but if it was to be, then I kinda agree that it would have been better to have actually filled the place and occupied it for a day or two, zero destruction or looting though. A peaceful sit-in. As to four people dying. The young lady was shot, questionably in my view, will have to learn more on that. But the other three were medical issues, heart attacks I'm guessing. No? This was an Antifa setup. I have been to Trump rallies and these rioters were nothing like the people I saw there. Use your brains and not your emotions. Look at the thugs that stormed the Capitol. They were not Trump people and this was the same as the Burning of the Reichstag. The DC police let in five busloads of Antifa on Tuesday yet we somehow never heard about them on Wednesday. These thugs bought Trump memorabilia and masqueraded as Trump supporters. Look at what your brain is telling you rather than your emotions. It's really hard to do when the Nobel committee starts handing out prizes for skin color. At that point, nothing is really real any more. Consider the following: Scripture clearly indicates that no leader comes to power except through God’s will. To be clear, there are two wills of God: (1) His sovereign will and (2) His moral or permissive will. In God’s moral will, he wills us to do certain things and avoid other things. God wills us to avoid sin. But, we have free volition of action and our wills are bent against God towards sin. God knows all of this. He contemplates it in His sovereign will. God’s sovereign will means He is ultimately in charge of all things. He has planned out the history of the world in order to glorify Him and bring about the ultimate correction. So, for example, in Genesis, Joseph’s brothers sell him into slavery and tell their father that Joseph is dead. Joseph, in Genesis 50, declares, “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.” It was against God’s moral law that Joseph’s brothers should treat a child of God so terribly. But God, as part of His sovereign will, used that injustice by Joseph’s brothers to bring about the salvation of Abraham’s descendants. Or consider this passage from earlier in Genesis as God reveals a bit of his plan to Abram: Then the Lord said to Abram, “Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs and will be servants there, and they will be afflicted for four hundred years. But I will bring judgment on the nation that they serve, and afterward they shall come out with great possessions. As for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age. And they shall come back here in the fourth generation, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.” Genesis 15:13-16 (ESV) God already foresaw and had worked into His plan the injustices of Joseph’s brothers, but had already contemplated using that act to get Abraham’s descendants to Egypt where they would stay for 400 years. During that time, God would keep them from the Amorites. 400 years later, God would use the Israelites against the Amorites. In the New Testament in both Romans 13, and in 1 Peter 2, God makes it very clear that no ruler comes to power except as part of God’s sovereign will. The leader being referenced at the time was Nero, the Roman Emperor who would ruthlessly persecute and kill the Christians. What is dismaying to me is that this really is Christianity 101. Seeing some Christians express shock and dismay or provide odd rebuttals shows just how shallow some people’s faith is. Some demand to know just how every bad and awful event in history could be part of God’s will. Overnight, from the Holocaust to American slavery to [insert terrible act you despise here], people could not understand how that could all be part of God’s will. Again, none of those things are part of God’s permissive or moral will. He does not want us to act like that. But God gives us the freedom to act and we live in a fallen world where we are all sinners with a will bent away from God and bound to sin. We will not disrupt God’s plan for our salvation and He allows us to act, using our sins and bad actions, weaving them into the tapestry of a history He already knows for an outcome He has already foreordained. We will not disrupt the will of God. Every good and bad deed is part of a plan, the outcome of which we know, but the path of which is only incrementally revealed to us. We now know that Joe Biden’s presidency is part of that plan, just as Donald Trump’s was. We now know just how shallow American Christianity is that some have chosen to believe the end of Trump’s presidency could be Satan disrupting God’s plan. For all the bad acts, from the Holocaust to slavery, to the things you personally see as bad that others may not, like the end of the Trump presidency, focus instead on the cross. There, an innocent man died taking on all the sins of the world. So many sins were piled up on that one man at that one time that the sun went dark as the Father turned His back on the Son. It appeared manifest evil had finally triumphed over divine good. The Creator of all things who spoke the universe into being was nailed to a cross and died. But there, in the garden, at the beginning of time, God had already spoken to Satan. “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” Gen 3:15 (NIV). Satan had struck Christ’s heel, but on that cross thousands of years later, Christ was crushing Satan’s head. He would conquer death and save mankind. All bad things, every single one you can name, is already woven into the fabric of human history as part of God’s sovereign will to affect His plan for our salvation. That includes the awful leaders of mankind coming to power from Nero to Hitler. It includes all the bad acts of humanity from plague and genocide to the death of an innocent man on the cross. It includes the election of the President of the United States. All these acts push history along to its ultimate resolution in Christ’s return and “we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 (ESV). So yes, the election of Joe Biden is not an act that undermines God’s plan or obstructs God’s will. I honestly thought that all Americans, whether Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative, Black or White, would have been appalled by the Fraud committed on November 3. I thought there would be almost universal demand to find the Truth wherever that led us. Fairness is what America is supposed to be about. I was wrong. Spidey and Steveford are examples of "the ends justify the means" mentality. That thought is corrosive and leads to anarchy, subversion and terror. Look at history, particularly the French Revolution, the Russian Revolution and the Weimar Republic. What started as something "good", led to decay and chaos. In all cases, a tyrannical leader took over and the former system was swept away. I am afraid that is the process that America just entered into. The Legislative Branch is irreconcilable. Congress is corrupt. Look at the Covid Relief Bill where Americans were given crumbs while the Oligarchy and foreign governments were given largess. The Judicial Branch is ineffective and mostly acts as a pseudo Legislative Branch rather than protecting the Constitution. The Executive Branch was clearly stolen and the Presidential Pretender hides in his basement and can't utter three sentences before screwing up. The American People are no longer a Virtuous People and we will slide into Darkness because of our corruption. The next generation is lacking education and is fed doctrine. They will be saddled with onerous debt that we are now creating. With their Google mushed brains, they will vote and act like the Romans who lost their way and became a corrupt Empire. China laughs and waits for their opportunity. The weakness and corruption of the Left is leading us to World War III, so you better start preparing. Glad that at least some of the dumb ones who posted their theft selfies on the web have been arrested already. Hopefully undercover Antifa will be similarly persecuted as the dust settles. It does seem at this point that even many busloads of imported Antifa would've been vastly outnumbered by the Trump mob who should have beaten the crap out of the imposters once things started becoming violent. If you were a peaceful demonstrator you really should have abandoned the protest at this point. It seems the Trump mob was happy to riot with them for the time being. | ||

Think what you wish about me but killing a Capitol Police Officer after you break your way into a building, rubbing your own poo poo on the walls and having guys roaming around in their combat gear with really long zip ties looking for people to hog tie doesn't really strike me as being very patriotic.
