Do you open Christmas gifts as soon as you get them, or do you save them until Christmas morning?

I like to wait, but some people don't. I wonder what the ratio is?

When I was a kid my parents couldn't afford Christmas gifts so it wasn't an issue. Instead my father would get drunk and take his frustrations out on us kids with a belt beating.

When I married and had kids we would let then open one present on Christmas Eve. The rest had to wait until Christmas morning.

At this stage of my life I don't really celebrate Christmas. I don't like how commercialized it has become and how everyone is pressed to overspend. We don't give gifts or decorate. Instead we have turned it into a family day with feasting all through the day and spending family time together.

If that make me a grumpy old man, then so be it. Our way takes all the stress out of the holiday season.

I prefer to give gifts during the year and not give or get at Christmas. While the boys were living at home it was one the night before and the rest in the morning. Gifts now given and gotten because of other's Christmas preferences.

We generally waited for Christmas morning. Now I'm of similar mind as Zane- we'll pick one, maybe two gifts to give that are inexpensive but meaningful, and fix good food for the day.

I really try to be mindful of Christ's Mass, to celebrate the life and teachings of Jesus. Every year, and this year in particular, think of the charitable organizations that help the homeless and struggling folk. A package of food that feeds a family or a good warm set of clothes are some of the best gifts possible.

Used to do one Christmas Eve present each, then Christmas day, the rest, right after a fresh pot of coffee ( the old, cold pot from 1:00am assembly dumped ) for the adults.

As the children became adults we stopped the Christmas Eve presents, but it seems a widespread tradition.

NOT SAFE FOR WORK OR SMALL MINDED...SWEARING! INAPPROPRIATE THOUGHTS!

All gifts I got on Christmas are provided and delivered by Santa Claus for free. If your parents can not afford you gift you just need to be a good boy all year round and Santa Claus will bring you a gift on Christmas.

I wish Santa would bring a jumbo sized can of Troll Repellant to Badweb.

I would happily open that gift early.

Here's my Christmas answer: I dearly wish all of youn's nothing but the best, double time over given this craptastic year of 2020. We've the remainder of December to make good, and at least get ready for 2021.
