If you have not seen Elon Musk on Joe Rogan's podcast,it's definitely a must watch.

Apparently the Russians are complaining that they will no longer be able to overcharge us for rides. They accused the US of subsidizing spacex in order to pull off those lower launch costs. Musk responded: Russian rocket 0% reusable. Spacex rocket 80% reusable.

Other US launch providers still use cold war era Soviet engines on their rockets. Spacex uses their own design. Their new engine for Starship is a full flow engine. If you don’t grasp the significance of this, watch the video below, which I’ll try to find and post later.

I'm very fortunate to be in a Systems Engineering program at Caltech. One of our keynote speakers, back in September, was Garrett Reisman, a retired astronaut, current SpaceX consultant and former director of crew operations for SoaceX.

His message was about systems engineering and the task that Elon set out on- make a reusable rocket. The failures the team endured were huge, but in the end, they nailed it. I'm looking forward to the launch and future successes from that team...

We also go to meet the chief engineer for the James Web Space Telescope... That's a very cool international project, albeit way over cost and way delayed on schedule...

If you want some cool entertainment, there are several YouTube channels monitoring the activity at the SpaceX site in Boca Chica, Texas. The work they are accomplishing is stunning. They’re building the facilities while simultaneously building progressively better Starship prototypes. SN4 is nearly complete. We’re gonna see a Starship fly shortly, and they’re ramping up to mass production of these things. It’s gonna be awesome.

Musk says they’re not really trying to develop a rocket, they’re trying to develop the assembly line. Their goal is to make hundreds of these huge rockets at very (relatively) low cost. They aim to make one raptor engine per day also.

Their goal is to build 1000 Starships and colonize Mars. I have no idea why. Mars is toxic and uninhabitable.
Here is a quick vid of the first test launch of Starship;

Launch #2 is not far away.
