Ah! Thanks. Good point.

So the Bad Orange Man has to win the electoral college vote, old style, the popular vote, AND the attempted coup New Electoral vote, to win.

And the Swamp & New Soviet Party will still consider it illegitimate.

Someone, may have been Bill Whittle, proposed that he could win the popular vote by getting nearly 100 percent of the vote in non-compact states by campaigning on a platform that would see people in compact states responsible for 100 percent of federal taxes. Since he would win the popular vote, the compact states would give him their delegates also, thereby forcing voters in those states to vote for a massive tax increase for themselves. Anybody else see an issue with these laws?

If we want to end our involvement in Afghanistan, I say it’s better just to pull out without securing any promises from the Taliban. In the aftermath, our best hope of avoiding terror from Afghanistan is to make it understood that we will retaliate massively if the terrorism resumes.

If the Taliban believes this, and continues to after Trump is gone, we don’t need any promises. If they don’t believe it, any promises are worthless.

On February 12, a coalition of Democrats and libertarian Republicans voted "to terminate the use of United States Armed Forces to engage in hostilities in or against Iran." Less than a week later, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) a co-sponsor of the measure, met in secret with Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Munich. The impropriety of such a meeting (which involved other senators who are still hiding their participation) is off the charts. Murphy tweeted that "I cannot conduct diplomacy on behalf of the whole of the U.S. government," but he did inform Iran's top diplomat "Congress is a co-equal branch of government, responsible along with the Executive for setting foreign policy." And to the extent this holds, Zarif feels assured by Murphy that Iran has nothing to worry about.

I think this is Treason. Plus other violations.

If true, by "off the charts" do you mean eligible for a firing squad? We are currently in a state of war with the Taliban. Any attempt to circumvent or undermine our official foriegn policy as set by the President and State department could be seen as an act that starts coincidentally with a T for Taliban.

Could you imagine if the GOP did that to a sitting Dem president?

Hoe.

Lee.

CRAP.

There would be public cries for draw-and-quarter, firing squads, and waterboarding.

But if a Dem does it? Meh. Whatever. Orange man bad, we can do whatever the hell we want.

What a crock.

Stunning Job Gains in February +273,000, With Revised Gains of +85,000 Dec/Jan

The Bureau of Labor Statistics highlights an excellent jobs report for February with 273,000 new jobs added; and an upward revision of 85,000 job gains in December and January. Total new jobs with revisions 358,000; that’s exceptional.

Main Street USA is very strong, exceptionally strong; and the fundamentals of the U.S. economy show balance and overall strength. Keep in mind, while all of this growth is happening the full impacts of the renegotiated trade deals have yet to kick in.

Highlighting the strength in the overall economy the construction sector added 42,000 jobs in February, following a similar gain in January (+49,000). In 2019, construction job gains averaged 13,000 per month. In February, employment gains occurred in specialty trade contractors (+26,000) and residential building (+10,000). This specific metric is important because it highlights economic expansion from U.S. workers and households having financial strength for home purchasing.

Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 273,000 in February, and the unemployment rate remains at 3.5 percent. Over the past 12 months, average hourly earnings have increased by 3.0 percent.

The change in total nonfarm payroll employment for December was revised up by 37,000 from +147,000 to +184,000, and the change for January was revised up by 48,000 from +225,000 to +273,000. With these revisions, employment gains in December and January combined were 85,000 higher than previously reported.

Concerned that they might have to put up with Trump for a second term, Khamenei's associates have back-pedaled on boasts that Tehran could wait for a Democrat, preferably Joe Biden, in the White House in 2021.

Says a lot.

Black swan? no, but a constant drumbeat of lies, spin, and panic mongering is ongoing and takes it's toll on popularity.

Plus the economic issues, which long term are good for America ( bringing back manufacturing from China ) but short term are subject to the constant drumbeat of lies......

And our Enemies want the economy to tank for the election so ( Hillary? argh! ) can win. ( and that's Enemies, foreign and domestic. )

Ok. They hate Trump. They fear Christians, who have a less flexible moral code. ( they resent being told anything is a sin ) They will use Any Means Necessary to rule, and Trump and the voters stand in their way.

Don't forget, Epstien didn't... And the people that paid for his murder in prison before he could tell who he provided with underage sex slaves are still at large. Where are the lists? Videos? The evidence that shows a Prince and former President and Sec State?

Or is it the "Evangelicals" that confuse you? Based on the fact that Trump ejected the murdered pimp/blackmailer/Intelligence Community guy from his club, while the former President flew to the pimp's private sex slave island multiple times and his ranch in loose company with the 2016 D Nominee, it's obviously moral relativism, or rationalization, or just plain "The other Party supports anti Christian murderers abroad, and hatred of Jews domestically, so go with the guy who doesn't."

Me? I assume hypocrisy. But I Know the Left Lies. It's in their book.

Trump doesn't say what he means, he says what you want to hear, and does something else. He's just a new version of the old scene.

From the Coronavirus thread.

I disagree, but not completely. See my recent rant on the Coronavirus thread on how leaders always spin the disaster to reduce panic and keep things running.

Trump is no different in that respect, sure!

It's the "say what he means" part I want to... Question.

The "says what you want to hear" part, I agree with in principle. "They all do it" is a lousy excuse. The percentage is arguable, and varies from speech to speech... ( This aspect of honesty may be a good metric to judge politicians with )

So...

I Ask the politically interested.. what is the phrasing on the Current popular mantra that Trump's fans say "listen to what he means not the words" & enemies say "ignore the meaning and dispute the words"... ??? ( I don't have that quite right! )

Help?

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2020/03/r emember_the_h1n1_pandemic_i_dont_either.html

A week after his administration first received word about a deadly flu spreading across Mexico, President Obama convened his cabinet on Friday and instructed every agency to play a role in preparing the United States for a pandemic.

The president’s comments came at the end of a weeklong balancing act in which his public words and actions were carefully measured to summon a sense of urgency without setting off a panic. It was no coincidence, his aides said, that he played golf the day his administration declared a national emergency.

Imagine if Trump played golf last week. I’m sure the media would just mention it in passing as an example of President Trump trying to avoid setting off a panic.

Otherwise the two presidents did much the same, convening their cabinets, creating a game plan, and insisting on interagency cooperation. Was media reaction the same? Hardly.

Good luck finding a description of Trump’s response to coronavirus from any newspaper or cable news show comparable to how they reported on Obama as he faced the swine flu pandemic. What a difference a president makes

I can excuse playing more golf, simply by the fact that he has also been very effective at leading us into economic growth. I don't condemn a "work hard, play hard" ethic.

Smart move, really. There was no chance of any real penalty. The Russians were just gaming the courts to get intel during discovery. They’re very good at the intelligence game. The Soviets had the US completely infiltrated from immediately after WW2 until - heck, we’re probably still infiltrated. Look at all the openly communist people we have in the government.
