My son Kenneth Robert is in ICU after having aspirated lots of fluid into his lungs and subsequently having two heart attacks - one in the ambulance, and the second in the ER. We are unsure how long he was without oxygen to the brain when his mother first found him unresponsive.
Kenneth is a 30 year old father of three kids - 10 yr old girl, 5 yr old boy, 3 yr old girl.
I'm preparing to drive to California, leaving when the sun comes up.
I'll post up when I know more. Meanwhile, packing the Spyder for the road trip. I'll be in the high desert two days from now, until further notice.
To your Son and Kids,- 3 John 1:2 - King James Version (KJV) 2. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Drive safe, slow down & think what you've forgotten before you roll, when you get rolling be smooth, courteous, & invisible.
Stay hydrated, take a walk at fuel stops to prevent blood clots. Rest when fatigued. Smooth is fast, invisible is fast & react like you are. Just like on a bike. Courteous driving and rational following distance is smooth and good for the blood pressure.
Whatever you do, brother, be safe. I've ridden in that Spyder, kinda wish you'd have grabbed a rental... that sweet little coupe lives for its natural environment, not sure about cross-country. That's just me though.
Prayers up for your son, for your safe travel, for peace in your soul, and for your family. Do post up when you can, let us know how things work out.
Isaiah 41:10 - King James Version (KJV) 10. Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
His lungs are responding; he was at 100% help and is now at 50%. He is on a special bed that rotates him all around to help his lungs. He can't get an MRI until he is off that bed and can have a portable ventilator. The goal is to improve to regular bed Sunday/Monday. MRI Monday/Tuesday. Then they will know the extent of his brain injuries. Regardless he will have massive scar tissue on his lungs. He will eventually go from hospital to long term acute rehab 1-3 months.
Patches you hit the nail on the head. Isaiah 41:10 is my personal mantra.
I'm about to hit the road. I will post any updates I get.
Great to read the news, buddy- your boy may not be out of the woods yet, but we've found the path. Keep on keepin' on, steady as she goes.
When you have the time, post up as to what in the heck precipitated this horrible crap... anytime I even think about lung problems, I cast back to my youth when I had asthma. Not anywhere the same, I know, but- Yeesh.
