The Trump-haters are claiming that he just risked starting world war 3. The term world war suggests that there will be numerous combatants on both sides. So who are the major players? I doubt the Russians will interfere. They are an oil exporter and would benefit immensely from middle East oil disruption. The Chinese might take exception but they could be appeased with a lucrative side deal. Who then, the North Koreans? They're a PITA but not a major player. How about our side? We'll probably go it alone. The Europeans are beholden to the Russians and don't want to risk taking sides. So what am I missing? War - possibly, but unlikely. World War 3 - just another hysterical claim from the same guys telling me we only have 10 years left on this planet. | ||

The Democrats hate Trump so much they are siding with women murdering terrorists so Donald won't win, anything, ever. The other aspect is simple too. We tell the enemy we'll destroy a secret list of sites, including "cultural sites". This forces the enemy to figure out their own list, and more importantly, put anti air systems to guard sites we wouldn't bother with. That saves lives and robots. Are we going to bomb the sacred mosque at Qom? No, why would we? But the nuclear weapons plant near by, sure. They carefully put it where it is to shield it with civilian bodies and sacred sites. I have no doubt Trump asked for the top hundred ( or 34 ) targets, no holds barred. By this time, he knows it will leak. What leaks, if it's properly compartmentalized, tells you who leaked. Better yet, targets with high civilian casualties that we wouldn't hit, will be on some lists. Every leaked target we won't hit is a distraction from ones we will. My best are on Coastal missile trucks, Chinese Silkworms, and Iranian Navy bases, especially the speed boat terrorist bases, which are abundant. And I'd expect more tweets. An offhand comment to a reporter ( aka Democrat Party loyalist ) that the Ayatollah's house certainly is a cultural heritage site... It's a psych game more than military. Just look at our domestic enemies. | ||

None of the press seems to know that the military has all sorts of contingency plans. I wouldn't be surprised if we have one for invading Canada (hopefully better that the 1812 one.) The way that hive pounces on any hook that they can fabricate is amazing. The joke about if Trump walked on water, they'd say "Trump Can't Swim" is spot-on. | ||

At 18 I can sign a loan for more than a house to pay for a feminist dance studies degree with no hope of ever getting a job that will pay back the loan in my lifetime. I can get trained to shoot a 120mm mortar and spend my college years getting artificial limbs fitted. ( because Obama gave my taxes to the enemy who bought the bomb to kill my friends and cripple me ) and I can't have a beer or a cigarette? Not just news, most social contacts. And it's not all bad. There is much better communication on interests, it's lots easier to find a game of D&D today ( seriously! ) and finding like minded hobbies & interests is much easier and light speed faster than finding special interest clubs on community bailouts boards. I don't think the young have a clue how to get by without cell phones With internet. With that does come trolls, propaganda, and bullying that us old guys never had to deal with and find hard to advise about. Being called Names at school? You develop a tough skin or a wicked sense of sarcasm. Or suffer. But that was an isolated, if huge part of ancient times for kids. ( it's still going on ) Modern Face-space-twit culture makes bullies ubiquitous in your face, and unless you isolate yourself into limited groups, inescapable. Plus, internet anonymity breeds horrid monsters, since they can lie, tease, slander etc. with zero fear of retribution. If some guy walked up to you while talking to friends and loudly said you were a baby raping liar, you could punch them in the nose. Bullies are cowards, and can't tolerate that. | ||
