You can count the not a millionaires in the Senate with one hand. I forget if you need two for the House. Most of these races cost more than you'd legitimately earn as a Congresscritter for an expected career or lifetime. ( some do seem to linger long enough to be mistaken for immortal vampires. I'll credit tax paid premium health care and the Dark Side ) I think I'm safe to say any career Congresscritter that becomes a millionaire in office is corrupt. Harry Reid made his fortune on real estate and "coincidently" pushed bills to make friends richer in that business too. I could be wrong in assuming he's crooked, but iirc didn't he get beat up a while back, " falling down... "? And no President since FDR can possibly earn enough to justify spending millions to get elected on pure legal salary greed grounds. The Clintons were "given" a mansion in NY so Hillary had legal residence to run for office there. Obama made his "publicly admitted fortune" from books and lectures. I feel free to assume Obama laundered vast sums through his campaign corporation that would be illegal for Mortals. It's well documented the Clintons stole millions "meant for the poor" with their charity/money car wash. Again, Mortals would be imprisoned, and sought by multiple countries. Speaking fees are a "legitimate" source of income for retired politicians. Of course it's a sound company policy to give Bill or Barry $400,000 to speak at a meeting. His wisdom is legendary! The government contracts or approval that just happened to seem to accompany that chat are purely coincidental, and anyone who says different is obviously a partisan hack pedophile Nazi trailer trash.... Obviously. I'm very skeptical about the Bad Orange Man. But even I have to admit that donating his salary to worthy charities is great P.R. Especially when the previous Occupier of the job told us we didn't earn our wealth, that there were limits on how much we should decently make, and showed by his actions that none of what he told us apply to his Demigod self. Of course, I could be wrong! He might feel comfortable buying a beach mansion not because he lied about the rising seas, but because his divine powers will prevent the seas from rising... Attacks on Republican Party Leadership can honestly be made on the grounds that they prefer to reap the rewards of well paying jobs, and not rocking the boat, instead of fighting for our freedoms against increasingly dishonest and radical Democrat Socialists.
