The three questions: Is there a God? What happens when we die? Are we alone in the Universe? |

1) Yes. 2) Our bodies decompose. 3) Of course not. |

I guess I'll be the first to say I'm not so sure about #3. I'm open to seeing the proof of it though. |

1) There is One God. There is no other besides Him. 2) Man is a physical and spiritual entity. There is the hope that his soul will dwell with God after the decay of the body. The sinful will not dwell with God. My understanding is that that existence would be one of torment. 3) Our existential aloneness is complete with the exception that God knows you. In that sense and with the exception of God we are alone in the universe. |

We are more than cells. God made us that way. And we'll all meet Him. |

1 - I don't believe so. 2 - Someone has to deal with the mess of your corpse, property, and other assets. 3 - Statistically speaking, it is unlikely that we are alone. There is an estimated 700 million trillion planets in the known universe, and Earth was the only fluke? The odds of us being alone make winning the Powerball several times in a row look like a sure thing. |

Once we die our souls will be separated from the bag of bones and we have been told we will know what God knows. I'm looking forward to knowing several things. Some are beyond my comprehension right now. Others might seem trivial. I mean, who really did shoot J.R. anyway? |

1. I used to thing so, but now am not so sure. 2. We become food for worms... 3. I believe there is life all over the universe. Anything from microscopic one cells to master overloads of science fiction fame. I also believe there is intelligent life. After all, you don't see them coming here... |

1.How much better off would HD had been if they had continued making Buell Motorcycles? $$$ made vs cost of closing. 2.How many of us would have had at least one more new Buell since 2010 by now? 3.How many Racing championships would Buell Motorcycles have won over these years? |

1. Sure, they are many. Or One if you prefer to view it that way. 2. Unless the speculation on the notion that we are all manifestations of a group/universal mind are so, ( & I do not so believe ) then we are individual souls, probably immortal on the limited time scale between Creation & Ragnarok, or the End Times & Armageddon if you prefer. After death the different faiths propose slightly different planes of continued existence for our immortal souls. My personal opinion is that is when we find out how wrong we were in our beliefs on Question #1. ( with our limited brains we certainly didn't get it completely right ) But some speculate that each soul goes to the Afterlife they believe in. ( infinite Universe, Infinite God(s), Infinite After Life Destinations ) I don't claim Revealed Truth here. Others may, so be it. IF souls remember and free will exists AND there are many Heavens ( & Hels ) then you've got an early invite to visit. Key words, Rainbow Bridge, Shining Fields, 3 F's. ( Fighting, Feasting & Companionship ) I look forward to it. https://www.poetryloverspage.com/poets/kipling/ded ication_2.html 3. Froggy has the best answer. Under the light of so many Suns, it's ego alone that justifies the belief we are alone. Of course, with our limited brains we are almost certain not to be completely correct in nearly anything we imagine. So let's revisit these questions on the other side if we can. |

1- I accepted Jesus at the age of 11... as I continued my studies I became agnostic. I have a very strong suspicion that there is a God, and I see examples of Grace pretty regularly. My dear Sister is a chaplain, Baptist flavor, and has been in the ministry one way or another all her life. I think she'll vouch for me... hope I do enough good in this life to please St. Peter when the time comes. 2- Dang if I know. Washington State just began allowing human composting, which I think is great. Here in Knoxville we have Dr. Bass' Body Farm, which is even kewler. The modern funeral industry is just a racket to take as much $$$ during your grieving time as they can. Sickening. I'd really like it if my friends/fandamily could charter a big fishing boat with my carcass chopped up for chum, then everyone goes fishing. 3- What Frogs said. 1) There is a 'higher' force in this universe that we don't understand, and I love seeing positive examples of it working. 2) Your lifeless vessel allows its energy to be used in the rebirth of life of another type. Worm-food. But Your spirit will go wherever you want. What if we are asleep in our home universe, when we are awake in this one, and all our dreams are that universes reality? 3) I'm with Froggy too. We know the numbers, basic math (with those large numbers) makes it simply a matter of Ego if we think we're "alone". Remember it wasn't so long ago the Sun revolved around the Earth....LOL |

3. Froggy has the best answer. Under the light of so many Suns, it's ego alone that justifies the belief we are alone. I offer this, not as something I believe (as is said above, my mind is open on this), but simply as a simple explanation of how we could be alone in such a massive universe. What if your God(s) created the universe with only us in it as evidence of his existence? It would be an ultimate cosmic joke on those that think they know better. But yes, the universe could be teaming with life we haven't found evidence of. Once we have solid evidence of life outside our solar system, I would be willing to say the odds of that are pretty great. |

Life from inorganic matter by accident is mathematically improbable to the point of impossibility. It's even more impossible to happen more than once. The odds become even worse. The God that you asked about, gave anyone willing to listen, a simple answer as to where life came from. There's no record of Him creating life elsewhere. Unless you count angelic and heavenly beings. |

I thought the three questions are: 1. What is your name? 2. What is your quest? 3. What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

To question #2 the immortal philosopher Keanu Reeves said “I know that the ones who love us will miss us.” Nice. Proof? I don't have the math. Don't care to argue what I don't understand. It's faith because there is suspension of disbelief. You might argue that last is best reserved for temporarily enjoying a Super Hero movie and is dangerous applied in other contexts, and you wouldn't be wrong. #3 is the most interesting and fun to argue about. Absent a visiting starship or a really obvious signal, it will be a long time before any probes we send out will return evidence of life outside the Solar system. Mars may yet have life. It wouldn't surprise me if the gas giants do too. |

Always makes me think of the young fellow who worked for me and told me "I don't believe in anything I can't see". I put a chair in front of a 120v wall outlet . . . handed him two butter knives and introduced him to the world of faith. |

Mars may yet have life. It wouldn't surprise me if the gas giants do too. I tend to agree. Even if confirmed though, does that mean we are not "alone" in the universe? Simple life, in theory, is simple to spread among planets sharing a star. It's not that different from finding life on a different continent, and it's all related life. IMO, it's finding life in another solar system that would mean we are not alone. Certainly a daunting task unless we start getting sit-com broadcasts from another star. Even then, the broadcasts could be coming from a star where life has already been extinguished, but it would be evidence that points to a universe filled with life. |

Court??? Bad analogy. You know there are lots of things we cannot see, feel, smell, taste or hear that can hurt us. Or not. Which senses should we have total faith in? G |

It's not that different from finding life on a different continent, and it's all related life. And how many continents were found wit no humans? Possibly Antarctica. But then there is the Piri Reis map. G |
