I dunno; it looks a bit tired to me. Take a picture of the pit bull heads on the side wall! (Message edited by Crusty on March 01, 2019) |

Hey SIFO, what JK do you have? A Rubicon with a D44 is good up to 37" tires and mild wheeling. No KOH! haha. You can even buy a brace kit for them. Anything with a D30 up front and I'd just call Currie Its an expensive upgrade, but one you should only have to do once, and it does help re-sale! |

Sifo, I have a G2 Dana 44 in the front with RCV Axle shafts. Guaranteed for life as long as you are not running anything bigger than 40" The rear is a Ford 8.8 with a Yukon Super 88 kit Both have Detroit lockers. I try no to get the Jeep bouncing to much and I'm not a big fan of the skinny pedal unless I'm in mud. (Message edited by wolfridgerider on March 01, 2019) |

I've got a 2015 JKU Willys Wheeler. It's got the D30. I have no plans to go larger than 35s for any foreseeable future. I hear mixed opinions on the D30 and 35s, even with gussets, etc. Like I said, when I go with bigger tires, a re-gear is not going to be optional with the trailer, so I'm committed to spending some cash on the axle, and it would be the time to add a locker. Once and done, right? This is exactly why I'm trying to sort this out in my mind now. Dropping in a new axle would be an easy way to make sure it's "once and done", but not cheap. Cheaper than doing it twice though. The good news is that the stock 32 inch MTs aren't bad and still have lots of life. I'm thinking if I can find a good deal on a Rubi front axle it wouldn't be a bad swap. Still, by the time I re-gear it and refurbish the rest, it might be worth just finding a new drop in axle. I agree about judgement on the skinny pedal, but we have lot's of sand here, and there's times you really need to stomp it to get to the top of a hill. I've found wheel hop can be pretty bad, and haven't heard of a solution. A marginal axle will probably be a source of aggravation. Thanks for the input. I think I know, more or less, what needs to be done. |

Somewhere in the stack of old 110 film pictures I have pictures of my daughter and son in my Jeep deep in the mud. If I recall correctly we duct taped one child to each roll bar because they always wanted to stand in the rear seat. My then little girl had a pink Barbie Jeep and my son had the Silverado 4x4. |

So I have been inspired! Did a couple laps around the property in my Jeep today. I still love my ol dinosaur! With all of the mud around here I almost had to get help getting in the beast. Nonetheless I was able to get in. Much like a Slinky coil spring toy.....throw a foot in while pulling myself up, the leg will follow , then the body just kind of springs into place. |

Do you have the footpegs for the lower door hinges? Nope. I can't stand the wind blowing up my dress.... or mud and rocks hitting my man parts |

Financial Mistake... that is the TRUTH! I have the box my Mcleod clutch came in stuffed full of all the receipts for the Jeep. It is starting to be a pain to close. I will NEVER EVER add them up. I just keep it around for any warranty issues that might pop up. |

Ever priced out BFG Km2 in 42"x20"? Sort of like buying an old niche motorcycle from a company that hasn't been around for almost a decade? Or two of them? Or Three?? (hides head in hands) We can't be helped, just go with it man... and hide that box well! |

Oh, so I have yet to give you a ride out back through camp swampy? Next time you come out my goal will be to make your eyes water. It'll be under ten mph. Brought on by fear of death. Shitting your pants comes way earlier. Not unlike a slow motion rollercoaster ride.imagine getting to the top of the first big hill where no matter how hard you search, it is so steep, you cannot see the track in front of you. Once you commit you cannot stop, no do overs. As in that film clip, just your wits and what you can get out of your machine based on feel. Your eyes will water. |

hey Mark!? Remember this little hump in my back yard? This was taken just before that first ride I gave you in my Jeep. We came over it from the other way and down that little vertical drop. Made our eyes water! Lol |
