Gravel roads used to have used oil poured on them to keep down dust. | ||

My next door neighbor used to pour his old oil in the alley behind the garage to kill the weeds. He passed away almost 30 years ago now and there is still nothing but gravel alongside the garage over there. | ||

My grandfather used kerosene for everything. Fleas on the dog? Kerosene. Oil spot in the yard from where you dumped the oil? Kerosene. Kids got lice or some other bug on them? Kerosene. You get the idea. | ||

My dad used to water the poison ivy with the drain oil. Shit got real when the zone of death grew out to get the lowbush blueberries nearby. He told me that lowlifes used to go to Spaggs (look it up) and buy the stuff needed to change their oil then go out to the dirt parking lot and let the old oil out right under the car  | ||

One house I lived in had a dirt/gravel driveway. I always dribbled my used oil on the driveway to keep dust down. I grew up in Texas seeing county trucks spraying old oil on the dirt roads, same reason. Efff the EPA! Z | ||

That monkey reminds me of a cartoon with two old mechanics. One of them is about to hit a carburetor with a hammer. The other one stops him and scolds him by saying,"You don't hit a carburetor with a hammer! It's a precision piece of equipment! Use a ratchet or something!" | ||
