Well put, Crusticle. Hats off to our military, police, first responders, and medical personnel. I'll be clocking in at 11 for a 12 hour shift, but I'm OFF tomorrow!!! News says Tennessee is #2 most dangerous state for Black Friday shopping- last year we were #1.  Youn's all have a great Thanksgiving, be safe, spread the love, turducken, and gravy all around. | ||

Brad, It won't be a pretty sight when he sees that.... I've already been sent to the Wally World for forgotten items. I would have road except for the frost. I am thankful for WhatsApp. It allows me to keep in touch with my son overseas. I can text anytime and face to face talk to him for free. We will have him at dinner with us through the app at 4:00 PM here. It will be the middle of the night there. I found the recorded message from him last night that he left just before they took his phone away when entering Basic Training. I can't believe how sad and proud I was of him back then. Please, If you have loved ones in the service or friends with loved ones in the military, Let them know about WhatsApp. | ||

I was watching Fox News earlier and our President was on the phone with a number of our bases around the world - Coast Guard in the East; Air Force in Kandahar; was patching through to a lot of locations and talking to leaders and troops. USAF (forget his rank, sorry) in Kandahar had a good statement that the President echoed - "we're fighting here to make sure the fight never reaches our shores again". Called it the "away-team battle". For anyone here with family overseas - thank you for your sacrifice. For anyone here who IS serving overseas - THANK YOU for your service!!! | ||

Back after work, a 12 hour fine dining table shift. Thanksgiving is a lot easier for what I do, but the long hours take their toll. I was surprised I could walk at all late in the day, got an early December appointment with a podiatrist for my gimpy left foot. Got a stiff, tasty beverage at my right, my sweetie prepared chicken meatballs and pasta, and I brought home three pumpkin cheesecakes, one crème brulee, and one key lime pie, which will be MINE. Plus almost 10# of awesome turkey, two boxes of white meat, one dark. Will freeze most. I see white bean chili in the future, but we're gonna do a F Black Friday Thanksgiving tomorrow (Today?). My sweetie and her brother worked harder than I did, doing a bathroom remodel. Their 6ish hours were more brutal than mine, what with all the frickin harsh chemicals and such. House is a wreck, it's on me to pick up the ball and source some wood treatments tomorrow, and get ready to mount a new shower door. Prep dinner at about 4ish. Work again Saturday, Sunday, off M/T to have my cousin visit. Life is good, and I'm thankful. Might hit the hot tub in a bit. | ||

Wednesday night, Thanksgiving Eve or Unofficial Friday, whatever you call the day before Thanksgiving is a night where many of us meet at a certain brewery and we see folks that haven't been around in a while and are back in town to see family. It's a great night. One of the guys that I haven't seen in many years came up and wished me a Happy Dysfunctional Family Day! Perfect! | ||

Just got out of bed about 30 minutes ago, can barely walk with my left foot, but I expected that. Coffee is slowly working its magic. Looking out the window at all the leaves I need to deal with before it rains tonite. My sweetie just called to tell me her work is COVERED UP- she has a part time retail job at a discount box, and she literally can't find a parking spot to clock in at noon. After I eat something I'll run some errands, get back here to work on chores. SO thankful I'm not working today! Too tired last nite to hit the hot tub, will definitely hit it today. | ||
