I caught a crow in the chest at 45 mph. Ow. Pretty solid punch, and killed the bird, but I stayed upright.. didn't even change lanes. I did hit the brakes and pull over though.
The first bird I hit was on an XB9. Blue jay never saw me coming. I actually wasn’t sure I even hit him until I pulled a feather out of my air box later that summer. The other 2 have been on the uly. One on the way to work and the other on a hot road trip to Idaho.
I was cookin' down Foothills Parkway on my CityX, suddenly saw a brown blur coming at me in my lower right peripheral vision... rear view showed a turkey ragdolling down behind me. It had run directly into the right side front wheel. Went back and took a few feathers, rode a little slower going home.
My first bird was riding on the express way doing about 75 and hit a seagull. Glad I had a windshield on that bike. It pretty much splattered like a huge bug.
The next was a sparrow that hit me in the chest doing about 50. I stopped and he was still laying down at my crotch. I put him down on the shoulder of the road and after a minute he got his act together and flew away.
The third was doing about 60 when I spotted what I think was a black bird on a collision course. I ducked, but nailed him with the helmet. WOW, that's loud inside a helmet. Never saw how that bird fared, but I doubt it wend well.
