Have you removed the baffles yet?

Is the intake still stock?

I'm interested in the FX version.
Did a test ride, completely different experience than a fuel powered motorcycle.
Good luck and enjoy.

Got it out the door for a little over $14K and change. I went with the 2018 because I knew the accessories I stripped off the 2016 would bolt right on. I don't know if that would be true for the 2019s or not. Guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks when EICMA opens. For some reason, that's the show Zero uses to introduce their new updates.

Will I kick myself, or will I be satisfied with my purchase. Find out soon enough.

You will be thrilled. I know some of the players and suspect you have bought a top quality, state of the art machine that you're going to enjoy beyond your expectations.

Just a hunch on my part . . . .

Don't forget to check for clutch weep. Will you de-noid? And remember, opening up the airbox with a dremel means you're mitigating the built-in cold air intake.
I recommend Amsoil, yes you pay more up front but the service life makes it worth it.
The main reason I'll never (presently) get an electric bike is because (virtually) no one makes one with clip-ons and a fairing! Come on electric bike manufacturers, I know single-track aerodynamics suck regardless but some of us want to FEEL like we're going fast AF! Plus every bit of drag CF improvement helps, however minute it may be. Especially when range is your main limiting factor. Assuming the advertised range is as accurate as the advertised range of ICE vehicles, I won't be able to commute to work and back on a Zero.

Yeah that's a gorgeous machine. And it should be at $34,000. I've seen a little bit about Energica online, they look like they're still kind of a startup company.

The Mission RS was my dream bike for awhile. Sad the project never went anywhere.

Which battery configuration did you go with? Did I read that right that you are replacing a 2016 model? If so, how do the capacities compare with the newer model and real world use?

Always curious, as I have a Chevy Volt as my daily commuter and keep a close eye on the fully electric offerings hitting the market.

The differences between the 2016 and 2018 are (I didn't get the Charge Tank for either year... that is the BIGGEST difference):

1) Stronger motor. You DEFINITELY feel the 80 ft/lbs of torque. I don't remember the 2016 figure but it was lower. 2018 is also rated for 60 hp, I seem to remember the 2016 was also less.

2) Stronger belt. Probably more due to people riding the HELL out of the SR model (which has insane levels of torque for a 400 lbs motorcycle), they equipped the bike with a stronger, thicker belt.

3) Waterproof, locking storage compartment. In 2016 the "tank" held a removable zippered bag that leaked like a sieve in the rain. I had replaced that with a custom made carbon-fiber cover made by Hollywood Electrics, but that wasn't waterproof either. The new arrangement also provides a helmet lock so I don't HAVE to have the trunk mounted anymore if all I want to do is secure my helmet at stops.

3. New colors. In 2016, the body panels were molded in their respective colors (like the Buell XB and 1125 models). Now they are painted and they really do look nicer.

In both cases I had the 13kWh battery which is good for 81 miles on the highway at a steady 70mph (in Eco mode, if you pin the "throttle" you maintain a steady 70 mph.... I use it like a poor man's cruise control on my daily commute). With combined highway and surface road riding I get a little over 100 miles. More than enough for 85% of my riding.

Because of the difference in the Charge Tank technology, it is no longer a "Dealer Installed" option; if you want it you have to order it that way at the outset. If I am going on an extended ride, I'll take the K1200LT. I live close enough to "fun roads" that I don't need either the extra battery capacity or the faster charging options.

The 2019 models should be announced at EICMA next month. Changes are "evolutionary" not "revolutionary" so expect to see some modest improvements throughout the model line.

Torquehd, you can still order a Lightning LS218 but that costs even more and they have even less of a dealer network than Energica. On the other hand, I saw Jay Leno's video on that thing and HOLY CRAP I WANT ONE!!! Now, if only my numbers come in on tomorrow's Megamillions drawing...
