This is why POTUS travel and MAGA events are so valuable. Prior to today…. prior to this exact moment…. by custom and political tradition -as well as input from the circle around the office- President Trump was likely to support Kevin McCarthy as a natural Speaker of the House predecessor.

If this figure reported in Rasmussen's daily presidential tracking poll Friday is anywhere close to accurate, Democrats are closing in on a crisis. While poll results available to the general public reported on the Rasmussen Reports website do not contain the racial breakdown (Rasmussen pays its bills by selling detailed breakdowns of its polling results to political pros), so notable was the figure that Rasmussen tweeted out a notice:

With approval nearing one-third of American blacks, it is no longer viable for Democrats to insist that Trump is such a vile racist that any favorable views of him should be censured by all right-thinking African-Americans.
The Democrats heavily depend on 90-plus-percent turnout and 90-plus-percent support for Democrats among African-Americans. If that level of support falls to 71%, the game is more or less over. Of course, support voiced to an automated poll in a phone call is different from pulling a lever to vote, but it is the start of a process that has another two years to play out before Trump's name faces voters again.

This year, not only did the president maintain a lean staff, he cut the total payroll budget from $35.7 million (2017) to $35.2 million and further honed the books. In FY2015, Barack 0bama’s payroll was much larger and exceeded $40.9 million with 477 staffers.

Trump’s White House payroll has been a leading indicator of his commitment to “do more, with less.” In the first few weeks of his presidency, Trump issued an order mandating an executive agency hiring freeze. Trump asked his agency heads to “seek efficient use of existing personnel and funds to improve public services…”
Leading by example, Trump has already saved taxpayers over $11 million, and projected four-year savings could easily top $22 million. The payroll discounts come from Trump’s refusal to take a salary, as well as big reductions in other areas including the absence of czars, expensive “fellows,” and spending on First Lady of The United States (FLOTUS) staff.
Here are some key findings:
- There are 95 fewer employees on the White House staff under Trump than under 0bama at this point in their respective presidencies. (In 2010, 0bama had 469 employees for $38.8 million – adjusting for inflation, the payroll cost more than $43 million.)
- $5.7 million in annual payroll savings compared to the 0bama 2015 payroll. In 2018, the Trump payroll amounts to $35.2 million for 374 employees. In 2015, the 0bama payroll amounted to $40.9 million for 476 employees, not adjusting for inflation.
- Ten staffers are dedicated to the First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS). In 2009, First Lady Michelle 0bama paid her 24 staffers $1.6 million collectively.

If I understand this whole Omarosa thing correctly, she worked with Trump for years, but is defining him as racist, supposedly, by a single recording of him. Is that correct? I think I would personally, put more weight on the actions I have seen over a period of years. This sounds far more like searching for a reason to despise him. Is that about right?
