Have a maple in my front yard, 30' or so, 10" trunk. Found a spot that's rotting in the trunk. Leaves are good, tree seems healthy enough. I've carved out most of the rot (2" deep or so, about a 20" tall crevice). Any suggestions for sealing it up? Or leave it breathe? |

Think of it as an open wound. |

Oh I have plenty of those after splitting Bambi in two with my S2...let's not talk open wounds, ok? I was thinking rust repair on an old car. Cut out the bad so it doesn't spread. I'll get some sealer, wasn't sure if sealed or draining was best. |

It's a maple. Cut it down before it becomes a real problem. I have 2 maples and have been getting bids to cut them down. I don't like them. |
