Just booked cabin 7. Matt, I've got some home made stuff I think you'll enjoy! We brewed 60 gallons of unhopped beer yesterday that will be converted to something worthy of barrel aging! Scotch anyone? | ||

 And that's what 60 gallons of home brew looks like. It's sitting next to a 1976 Chevy Luv truck with a 5 liter Mustang motor in it! Fun yet cluttered garage! Not my garage btw. This one doesn't have two wheelers in it! | ||

My brother used to brew beer 20-ish years ago. Seeing that brings back some drunken memories of memories. I'll drink Scotch any time... I'll be bringing at least one special bottle of currently undetermined fluid. | ||

I hope you can! As far as beer, it's a stout. What happened was my friend got a call from a brewery he used to work at. They had a barrel of barrel aged stout that had went bad. They told him if he wanted to have it he could so he took it and with some help it was transformed. That's what I'm bringing. It was so good they wanted to make more so they got the recipe from the brewer and made the same base beer. Time will tell if it turns out the same. | ||

My all time favorite beer is Kentucky Bourbon Barrel, so this sounds intriguing. | ||

See you Thursday Matt. I'm either going to trailer the Buell or ride the Harley. It's a matter of tires as the Harley has pretty good rubber on it but if I rode the Buell I might have to put a new rear on before I got home. | ||

 Still gotta work in a valve adjustment and fluids change, but DANG if I aint ready to RIDE!!! I've already primed my liquor store buddy to point me to a decent bourbon soon, but I also have another in mind... Gonna be EPIC. So looking forward to seeing all you miscreants, eating some 'cue, and rolling. We had a get-together Tuesday in memoriam of a great BFAM (brother from another mother) that we lost a year ago, got some great local BBQ... it was dang tasty, but the brisket was a bit dry... need me some Jim's now.  | ||

So sorry to hear that, Zac. My chaplain sis lost her 13+ YO kitty, of all names, Zach, a few months ago- brought him home from boarding, let him outside, and he simply collapsed in the driveway very soon after... probably heart failure as well. She was tore down, obviously... As Fate determined, a few weeks later someone posted to the neighborhood website that an orange tabby kitten had shown up on her doorstep- "who wants to adopt?" She picked my sis, and now "Eli Boo" has her. That's the deal we make being a pet owner- if it aint a parrot, we'll lose them before we go. Godspeed to your heart mending, friend. There's still time to make TWoS, if you can. Doing an oil change and valve adjust Wednesday. | ||

Sorry about your cat Zac, even more sorry that we won't see you in Suches. I took the CBR1100XX Super Blackbird out for a spin yesterday, and I think I have just about made up my mind to ride it on up to TWoS this year. It. Has. SO. Much. POWER. | ||

 More like a joke! Many years ago I was on a long trip on my 91 Electra Glide Sport. I was loaded up with camping gear etc. I was on a twisty road somewhere in California and I got blown past by a Blackbird. My competitive spirit and ability to forget how old I am led me to grab the throttle and start chasing the Honda. I knew I couldn't out run him but I wanted to just keep him in my sights. I went flying into a left hand switchback so hard that I hit the floorboard support sending sparks flying everywhere and raising the rear wheel off the ground. The bike slid around the corner and when I was lined up with the exit I turned the front wheel to the left which brought the bike upright engaging the rear tire as I grabbed a handful of throttle. The bike shot straight and continued up the road. Why I wasn't in the ditch could only be explained by dirt bike instincts and the grace of God! Most likely the latter! Anyway, I decided that chasing the Blackbird on the Harley was really stupid! |
