We are looking for some help from local (St.Paul MN) Buell owners with a 2008-2010 XB and 1999-2002 X1 or S3 models.

We are building harnesses to pre-program ECM's for customers that don't live in this area, next to a dealer, or in this country. Or goal is the have harnesses for all the EFI Buell's so any customer will just need to give us their vin number and we can flash the ECM with the latest OEM map or send us their ECM for a re-flash. The harness is done and tested for the 2003-2007 style ECM.

The bike will need to be at our store for a couple days so we can flash an ECM then install it into the bike and test it by starting and running the bike.

If your in the area and your bike is in good running order and you would like to help us out please contact Lance at 651-738-2168 or email me lkugler@stpaulhd.com.

Thanks for any help you can give us.
Lance

I was surprised when I had to bring my bike with new ECM installed to your place or Wild Prairie to be flashed. This was maybe 7 years ago and not a complaint. Good to hear you are doing this.

Lance, I have an 02 S3 that you guys have seen before. My contact info is already in the HD system. I have both the race ECM ( currently installed) and the OEM unit.
I would be happy to offer it up to your shop for testing, and for the greater benefit of the Buell community. Feel free to contact me about the logistics of getting the bike to you if you decide to use it.

I believe the people at Buelltooth.com have already built that harness for both DDFI-2 and DDFI-3. Perhaps a call to them would answer any questions?

Sorry Lance, I'm too far away to help.

Thanks for the the heads up Shoggin.

Mnnscrounger I'll most likely be contacting as soon as service is ready.

We have all the harnesses made we just need to test them to make sure the programing is loading correctly with out a bike present. I send out one of the 08-09 XB ECM's programed to a good customer as a test and we are having a couple issues we need iron out.

Without having the bike here and having all the sensors attached to the harness the ECM it's pulling codes that the sensors aren't responding. I know its easy for the end user to clear the code after the install but I don't like sending them out way. We are working on making the ECM think all the sensors are there but we aren't electrical engineers so it been a little challenging at times.

Will these all be stock maps?

Do you have stock exhausts in case the only bikes you find don't? Interested in how that would play out with the tuning.

You have a customer here if you do other than stock mapping.

Sorry we can only load stock maps. We don't own the rights to any of the performance maps that are out there.

Lance
The last OEM maps for the 1125 were pretty good.
My notes say it's M3HUS11Z for the 1125R

All previous maps made the bike run like a popcorn machine.

Any deeper questions, talk to Tim Blomenberg at IDS - 260-547-4399
