Even a dog's ass gets a little sunshine once in a while... Expeditors International had it's annual Service Providers awards banquet last night. Yours truly was presented his third "Hero Award" signifying excellence and above-standard service provided throughout the year. In addition to this, our company was awarded "Service Provider of the Year" as well as "Technology Partner of the Year". We have integrated our dispatch system with theirs through EDI links which allows seamless integration and instant access to hard copy Proof of Delivery upon completion of each delivery. All vendors are required to comply with this integration, and when asked about the other service providers and their progress in implementing these systems, the answer was uniformly given: "Nobody else even comes close". ATL Courier is proud to be the premier service provider in the Atlanta marketplace, and I can say modestly that I had a lot to do with it. In their own words, no service provider in any market has ever received as many awards every single year than we have. Also, no one person has ever received three Hero Awards. Until now.  I'm feeling pretty good about it, felt like sharing with you all, being quality minded individuals. | ||

We actually got two stars in 2015, my co-worker and one of my drivers each got one for a rescue job we did in Michigan in the dead of winter... Joe, my dispatcher, stayed up through the night arranging multiple tow trucks and additional labor to assist a broken down liftgate trailer offloading into the back of a store, 24 pallets of store fixtures. The driver only had a thin jacket and temperatures were sub zero all night. The job got done, the installers got their displays, and the truck was repaired and off the property on time. They earned those stars, and they only give out a few each year... but both of them are on my team so I can still pat myself on the back a little. All that got done while I was asleep, so I'll take credit for leadership. | ||

Congrats and good on ya! Being an outside repair vendor, I have friends in management positions who like you, work their asses off to better their company. Recognition in the form of appreciation for the work they do is rare. I once put in a good word for a good man doing a great job and upper management accused us of collusion. I lost a contract eventually he lost his job and a couple years later they called to apologize saying that they were wrong and that the manager above him was running amuck with corruption. Glad to see some well placed accolades. Sounds like you are working for some good people. | ||

Running a bit behind in reading this- good on you and your crew! Seems not too long ago, I might've very slightly helped your efforts along...  A job well done should be, but not always, is recognized. As a professional server, been at it for decades, boy do I know. Thanks for posting this, and again, congrats brother! | ||
