Good God, that chalkboard makes my head hurt... straight math I can handle, abstract is, well, exactly that. I suck at that stuff.
Still, I miss being in interesting classes. Oh well. |

My favorite . . to teach and the most "visited" by other faculty . . is the one I do using the Fender American Stratocaster as a prop . . . I am an "odd teacher" but let the results speak for themselves . . after 9 years on the faculty.

I always start the semester with the "cellphone" . . "someone loves you" and my "you can learn when you get to work . . I am here to teach you to think" lectures.
I keep waiting for them to boot me and they keep giving me awards. |

The last time I cut my hair was with a shaver in 2007.
Spent 10 years as a corporate •••••, with a ponytail.
The first and only time they told me to cut my hair, I told them I was sexually assaulted by a barber when I was little.
6 years in the Navy was tough with the short hair, so I had my mom pierce my ear and wore an earring.
Biggest reason for that was nobody would pass me a joint at the concerts with short hair till I got the earring... |

Apparently last night we discovered a BBQ joint in Long Island City of which Court was unaware! John Brown's Smokehouse boasts that they are "Authentic Kansas-style BBQ" so he's just going to have to verify that claim once and for all.
As for my uneducated palette, the food was good but the portions were rather small compared to what I've grown accustomed. They also didn't throw-in a free piece of cornbread.
On the plus side, their spicy BBQ sauce was VERY spicy, if not quite as tasty as my favorite hot BBQ sauce (the Dinosaur's Wango Tango Habanero Sauce).
I ordered the two-meat platter with pulled pork and brisket. For my side (and yes... the platter includes only ONE side), I ordered the collard greens and I thought it rather funny that they warned me the collards were cooked with pork... |

It should be illegal to use the term "KC BBQ" without referring to Authur Bryant's.
You know you're good when President's land in KC . . go there to eat and continue their flight to California. |
