Appreciate the feedback on a place Matt. I've never had shocks built on anything, so some good Intel is I'd help!

It would be nice to use a local shop like that. Many of these guys do quality work at a lower price.

I had used HyGear on a few sleds and had good luck. But they were not the cheapest in the world.

My previous Apex had HyGear build them originally and used their twisted springs. They also did one rebuild quite a few miles later. They rebuilt and calibrated the shocks on the Phazer as well.

The Viper has HyGear Axis shocks on it and they are an amazing addition to that sled. I can't say I would have spent that kind of money on shocks, but my buddy had them done before I bought the sled from him.

They do know what they are doing with shocks at HyGear.

Good luck

Pretty steep. All the sign stuff, no matter what the subject matter is, has gone insane in the last 5 years.

Going to make it to haydaze this year? I know a lot of people the normally go, that aren't going because of how expensive it is.

Guys on the sled forums bitch about the cost and the lack of good deals. My answer to that is they are the type of people that bitch about free ice cream too.

$25 for one day is a bargain. And a person does not have to even go through the swap to have a good time. My daughter and her friend had an amazing time, and they were caught a number of times making plans for next year! I think I had as much fun just watching them enjoy themselves.

It is so much more than grass drags and swap meet anymore. Below is the post I put in my sled groups and on my Youtube channel. I just didn't shoot as much video this year as I did photos. And my best videos were on my daughters phone, which she proceeded to delete once she knew I was shooting her flirting with the pro's, or looking like a yutz on the Arctic Cat simulator.

Macy, Sydney and I made the annual trek to North Branch, Minnesota to the Sno-Baron's Haydays! We met up with Jarred and Drew for some fun!

This was year #4 for Jarred and I. Year #2 for Macy and this was the first time of many for Drew and Sydney!

Michelle put together some nice autograph shirts for the girls and they had a blast getting them signed up. Highlights of the day, for them, were flirting with Tucker Hibbert, Levi Lavalle, and sitting on Chris Burandt's $30,000 sled while posing for pictures with this backcountry legend! Grass drags, Terra Cross and Levi's 200' jump were up there as well.

Finding a Team Lavalle FXR jacket for 50% off, Priceless!

So we spent a day Friday before last running sled trails on the Wildcat. It snowed on us all day long! I love it!!

I was riding my bike to work every day this summer pretty much. It has now switched off like a light switch, and am back in the truck. It won't be long and we will have white stuff on the ground! We saw plenty in Tahoe this past weekend on the mountain tops!

Albany Lodge in Wyoming(where i took my new M8000 for its first ride) has 6" on the ground as we speak, and is supposed to get more!

got the zr900 out of the trailer the other day and moved into the garage. soon i will be tearing the shocks off of it for that rebuild!

first thing i saw when i got inside the gate at haydays... figures... lol. actually i even saw a 12s in black and cherrybomb out in the parking lot!

And then there was this near pristine 2000 Thundercat with 2100 miles on it... i still shouldnt have sold my last one...

they were doing the wrap on that lambo while it was sitting there. must be nice, he has a few of them.

then there is the new Thundercat. maybe i can sell a kidney!

i walked all the way from almost the front parking lot, back to where the jump was supposed to happen(that almost no one could see, and even most the people standing where they could see basically missed it...) and then turned around after deciding i wasnt going to see it anyway, and walked all the way back to the main entrance and across the road to the north end of that parking lot.

all while carrying a couple backpacks, shovel, fuel can, new snowmobile coat, bibs, some other odds and ends, as well as a box full of 4 gallons of oil on my shoulder...

I'll take this all day long...

So it is a bitter sweet last week of October. The boat was winterized and put into storage. The waverunners were winterized and put into the garage at the lake with my wife's bike.

I have yet to pull the sleds out, but it's close as we were 27 degrees this morning.

My buddy across the street has been rebuilding a 2014 Yamaha Viper LTX SE for the past year. It was totaled with 200 miles on the clock. He bought it off salvage and now it is alive!!

I let him put a couple days on my daughters Viper LTX, so he was inspired to finish it, knowing what kind of monster this machine is. I would have to say, he knows that AC procross chassis better than most AC or Yamaha Viper owners as he had this thing down to the most basic components when rebuilding. Nice job.

He is jacked for sure coming off of an Arctic Cat SabreCat.

The torque of that 1049cc engine in the AC Chassis is very addictive. And they all feel like monsters on grass when they hook up.

I say potential, as it could just be a crap-can of rain!!

Thought some biker folks from the the Southern states could appreciate some good old fashioned cold weather videos.

You guys can appreciate the warmth you have, while we appreciate the cold.

2016/2017 Season Trip 3

So it was -9f and around -25f with Windchill. BUT IT WAS SUNNY!! Drew and Anna were game for a ride.

So we trailered to Hawley and dropped for a quick ride to the Roadhouse and back. 53+ miles and no lost digits. That's a success here in MN.

Tomorrow we may just do this all over again!

2016/2017 Season Trip 4 - High Speed Snow!

So it's the Friday before Christmas. Joe, Ryan and I decide we should help Tom enjoy his new present. A 2016 Polaris Pro-X 800 Rush!

We trailered up to Crookston, MN for some high speed groomed ditches and tree lines over to Red Lake Falls and on to Thief River Falls.

We roll into the home of Arctic Cat just in time to catch lunch at the world famous Black Cat across the street from the plant. We decide to take an alternate route through Plummer, MN back to Crookston.

All done, we put 127 miles on the ticker and quite a few good ones at that. Those trails are ready for a fresh round of snow this weekend.

2016/2017 Season Trip 5 - New Year's Eve Teen Ride!

Sorry for the foggy footage. I had to resort to the Chinese GoPro on this trip.

We dropped at the boat landing on the North shore of Cotton lake and met up with a friend and his boys. We ran over to the trail just West of the lake.

The route North took us to the West side of Tullaby lake and up the West side of the White Earth State Forest to PineHurst for lunch.

We then worked our way around the East side and South down to Elbow Lake store for fuel on the less efficient sleds. Of course we had to do the high-speed cruise across Elbow Lake, rip the river to Little Bemidji lake and back on the Rat Lake trail back to Cotton lake.

Good times for sure!

Looks like you've been having fun! I only got one day I'd riding, and about 90 miles on over Christmas break because of lack of snow while we sat at the house in Wisconsin for a week...

But... We are on the road back up tonight! Fri sat sun and come home Monday. They just got 8+ inches of snow! I'm ready to ring the RR's neck!

2016/2017 Season Trip 6 - New Year's Day

So a buddy and I dropped at Okeson's Off Trail North of Detroit Lakes for a nice 132 mile day in the woods and Lakes. He was lucky my daughter lent him her "trail boss" for the day.

We worked our way up to PineHurst for lunch, then headed out across the White Earth State Forest towards Two Inlets for a bit of fuel.

After some high speed pulls across the Ponsford Prairie, we got back into the woods and back to Okeson's. What a great way to start the new year!

Well, went to wisconsin for a week over christmas... and rode one afternoon for about 80 miles... no snow. UGH!

Sooo, we went back a couple weeks later and got lucky, they got a good 6" the day we headed up. and it stayed reasonably cool until the day we were leaving.

had a great trip. Well if you dont take into account Lucas going off the trail 3 times, hitting trees twice... for ABSOLUTELY no reason whatsoever. I am having a hard time dealing with his inability to pay absolutely any attention to anything that goes on around him...

anyway, on to the pics! we still managed to put around 150 miles or so on a day. was a great time!

Garmisch's biiig christmas tree!

a heck of a bridge we cross on occasion

the deer were really fond of our sleds ; )

The first time Lucas left the trail and side swiped a tree. Thing is he is only going maybe 25-30 mph... and there is barely a curve... so he decides the best course of action is to jump off the sled... WTF kid?!?! well the sled just grazed a tree. he on the other hand to one dead center to the back while he was rolling. you'd think that would teach him not to bail(and the fact that i chewed his a$$ for jumping off the sled for no good reason. we do NOT bail...

this is a nice view for Wisconsin!

the second tree hit took the rest of the front off the hood(it was already damaged from him hitting a tree 2 years ago the last time he rode it. although that one wasnt his fault)

the curve, and trees he hit the second time(hit them the night before in the dark) i had stopped in the corner and slowed him down and kept flashing my brake at him so he knew we were turning somewhat sharp at the bottom of the hill. instead he proceeded to let go of the sled again and see where it went... our next time past this on the way back home, i made him stop. get off of his snowmobile, and walk the snowmobile around the corner... lmao. he was not impressed!

I am stoked to be leaving this Friday night (tomorrow) for colorado for a week with the new mountain sled. im ready to try the thing out in som deeeep snow and play in the mountains!

6 full days of riding at Vega Lodge in Colorado! Had a blast! the new owners of the lodge even came out riding with us for a day so we could show them around (and start them on there snowmobile riding learning curve) they bought the place in the fall, and were originally from Cali, then Texas... so havent played in the snow much!

had a great time. only got a few inches of snow the first day we were there, but still managed to find all kinds of deep stuff to play in! just had to search for it and be willing to run cross country through the trees and stumble across all the little(or VERY BIG) honey holes we found without a track to be found or other people to be seen!

I spent 6 days there mountain riding, then a day wandering around in Denver, then one day skiing at A-Basin, and another day Skiing at Vail before i flew home(the other guys i trailered out with, hauled my sled and gear home for me)

I did discover though... that i rode the whole trip a good 20-30 horse down on power... my sled had to big of weights in it for the elevation even though it was supposed to be set up for where i was. so i could only get 7400-7500 out of the motor instead of 8100-8300... thats alot of oomph untapped on a 2 stroke! funny thing was it would still climb like it didnt have a care in the world!

the only real bang up i had was i managed to dead center a rock the second day. i went over the bars and pretzeled my bar riser and snapped one of the clamps. luckily we had a backup sled along and we borrowed the parts off that. no real harm, no foul.
