Trump Sexual Assault Accuser Going Ahead With Lawsuit One of the 13 women who alleged Trump assaulted her will seek a legal remedy. By Kali Holloway / AlterNet January 17, 2017 UPDATE 6:09pm, January 17: Summer Zervos, a former contestant on "The Apprentice," announced at today’s press conference that she has filed a defamation suit against Donald Trump for using “his national and international bully pulpit to make false factual statements to denigrate and verbally attack Ms. Zervos and the other women who publicly reported his sexual assaults in October 2016.” The lawsuit, which was filed in Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday, can be viewed online. According to those court papers, Zervos “was ambushed by Mr. Trump on more than one occasion” over the course of filming the television show in 2007. The lawsuit alleges: Mr. Trump suddenly, and without her consent, kissed her on her mouth repeatedly; he touched her breast; and he pressed his genitals up against her. Ms. Zervos never consented to any of this disgusting touching. Instead, she repeatedly expressed that he should stop his inappropriate sexual behavior, including by shoving him away from her forcefully, and telling him to “get real.” Mr. Trump did not care, he kept touching her anyway. The suit also charges that Trump “attacked [Zervos] in a hotel room on a later occasion.” Attorney Gloria Allred told assembled press that Zervos volunteered to take, and passed, a polygraph test. The lawsuit describes Zervos as having “felt conflicted and confused for years about the incidents.” She came forward in October, after the leak of the infamous Access Hollywood tape, which features Trump boasting about grabbing women by the genitals. As a woman, I felt violated, as the love and tenderness, which he normally exhibited towards me, was absent. I think charges of sexual assault should be properly followed up and if the man is guilty he should be removed from society. Prison or eviscerate, I'm easy, your choice. Being a candidate or president shouldn't stop the legal process. Equally those who bring false charges with malice should go to jail. So let's bring it. We can do Bill and Donald together. Snopes includes some facts, and has some accuracy (even some useful accuracy), but don't kid yourself and think that means it necessarily means truth. Same with NPR. Facts are useful tools to people with agendas (including us here on both sides). Always be aware of the agenda.

So let me get this straight. You make the accusation of sexual assault, but don't follow up with any legal action. Then you sue for defamation over the denial of the unsubstantiated accusation? But rather than just have your lawyer file the suit down at the court house, you have a press release? This is clearly not about a sexual assault. Again, serial predators don't suddenly have decades of victims come out of the woodwork, all on the same week! "That's not how any of this works!" Gloria Allred being involved is another tip off that it's complete BS. Makes me wonder if a suit has actually been filed, or just the announcement of a suit. I'm pretty sure the latter is all that they are really looking for. Rocket? I live about 90 min from DC. Therefore my local news...includes DC. I cannot believe how butt-hurt these whiners are. Protests. Plans to "halt the inauguration" - like that'll happen. Disruption. Attempted chaos. Boycots by elected officials. Unbelievable. If you're elected to an office and boycott something like this...clear out your desk and go the hell home. You're here to DO A JOB. Hey, if I actually believed CNN instead of knowing it's the propaganda arm of the Clinton machine, I might be pointing out what obvious scum Trump is. In fact, even knowing msnbc is probably lying at any given moment, I point out what obvious scum Trump is. Don't like his style or persona or probably policies I haven't heard yet. Otoh I don't feel the need to point out Donald's many and blatant failings. I know lying Alinsky fans will do so 24/7 & I'd be redundant. I can only hope the LEOs on duty for this event make it abundantly clear that this behavior will not be tolerated. Now...or at all. Period. There was a sound byte this morning of a DC cop: "we will protect and honor their first amendment right to free speech but the second things become physical or destructive we will put a stop to it". Hopefully extreme prejudice won't be required but I'm sure there will be fatalities at some point, the way these butt-hurt little babies are acting. Paying $2500 to rioters to "disrupt" the inauguration. Paying for buses to transport rioters to multiple cities. Election fraud. More Election fraud. Again, you assume we are fools. Everyone up there is using an empty, or at least irrelevant, set of folders. We get it. We think it's silly, but we don't think it is important. What I didn't get was why the media crucified Palin for putting notes on her hand before a speech. Simple, cheap, effective, reliable, and the ultimate in ecological efficiency. Five points, quick solid speech that gets to the point. A no frills, down to earth, get work done approach. Why mock someone for that, unless you are some kind of primmadonna that finds it anathema and beneath you to ever get your hands dirty. Which explains it I suppose. | ||
