Say a prayer of healing, please... for my cousin out in California. Mr. Robin Davis has colon cancer. Son Christopher is in the Marines, deployed. Daughter Audrey is still in college. Wife Tracey is a Silicon Valley executive. |

Prayers up, Matthew. I had the pleasure of serving a very nice old lady and her son last night- he's in visiting her from Baltimore as she is going through cancer treatment here. She said they'd been in Fleming's a year ago as she started treatment, but she couldn't hardly eat anything then- she sure ate well last night. I love taking care of folks like that- they aren't there just eating great food and taking it for granted (as do too many), they're truly enjoying the whole experience. I do my level best to make their time with me special... makes the world go around. Keep us posted as you can, buddy. |

Robin used to work for Activision back in the days of the Atari 2600. He would show up at my grandmother's house with ROM chips on an adapter that you could plug into the game, and we were playing games before they were released. He then went on to work on the Z80 microprocessor, which was pretty high end stuff back then. Good times. |

Wow. I was a video game geek from day 1, Pong and Space Invaders on forward- my mom probably could've paid my college tuition with all the quarters I blew on video games and pinball... I wouldn't trade that fun for much of anything! If I hit the lottery, I'll open an A to Z vintage video game and pinball arcade! Here's hoping/praying your cuz beats the H outta that C. |

Prayers sent! On the Atari games. An old friend who's soul has now gone to mingle with the great harmony worked with the original Atari inventor and built the molds for the game's housing. He had one of the first 6 games ever assembled. It is now passed on to his daughter. As far as I know, it still works. |

Let's hope that Robin proves to be as resilient as those old game machines. Thanks, everyone... keep the positive thoughts coming. |

I was a kid growing up in Nashville when we had the 1982 World's Fair here in little ole' Knoxville Tennessee... it was actually pretty cool! I rode a charter bus with a bunch of other kids up here and spent the day. They had a BIG video game pavilion, which was heaven to me... but for $1, they'd only give you THREE tokens, GRRRR! Played a buttload of different games that day... good times fo sho! Not to highjack, Matthew- we all have good time mojo to harken back to, it enriches the spirit! Again, keep us in the loop. Holidays are for fandamily, and I count many here in that group. |

Prayers sent, Matthew. I guess we should all be praying every day that a cure for cancer is discovered, and soon. |

Good morning everyone. I let Tracey know that we're all praying for her husband and the family at large... and she is very grateful. Thank you again. Once again, BadWeB rallies around a cause and is making a difference. You guys are the best. |

I do appreciate the thought, but they haven't revealed the full situation to Christopher and Audrey yet. I don't want to tip them off by having a lot of evidence showing up in the mailbox. She has sworn us all to keep it off Facebook and other social media, so for now I'd like to keep it as is. Thanks again, everyone. Really, this means a lot to me and to them. |

Dominus vobiscum, Matthew OOOoops, I'm not a Deacon so I can't say that, according to Wiki and tradition. I WAS an altar boy for several years and picked up a bunch of Church latin.... Domine, exaudi orationem meam, ("O Lord, hear my prayer") Z |

And also with you, Zac4mac. Preliminary report is "they think they got it all." I think they say that after every cancer surgery I've ever heard of. I'm just going to keep praying. I got a Christmas card from them last night, which every year has family pictures all over it... I damn near lost it standing there in my kitchen... I haven't visited my family in Northern California in years, I need to fix that. |

Matt, They don't always say they think they got it all. That is good news. Hang in there and make that visit happen. I'll be visiting my cousin in a couple of days. He got the bad news. Seems like a lot of my wife's side of the family has recently been diagnosed. My wife had nine surgeries last year. Makes you ask what am I waiting for before I enjoy life and is this what I want to be doing? Still praying. |
