The best Buell is the one that's in your garage. The most beautiful Buell was the S3 - T. |

Hard to beat The Thong as best raw motorcycle experience. For two up the Cyclone is close. The different cams make a small personality difference. More short shifting, etc. The aluminum series with the next gen sportster engines I must admit were technically superior and every bit as much fun. The Firebolt was labeled best handling bike by a British magazine.... The Ulysses was the apocalypse bike that carved pavement like a sport bike with the most comfortable seat on the planet. The Rotax powered bikes were, once the teething problems all bikes have were ironed out, were world class super bikes. The EBR bikes refined the breed toe to toe with Ducati and will be missed. I especially regret not getting the M2 equivalent. I'd be happy to have any of them in my dream stable. |

What's the best Buell? Since Froggy threw the 1190RS out there, for the sake of this discussion, I'll follow suit and consider that an EBR is a 'Buell' and say: The best 'Buell' has not been built yet! My $0.02, as I'm waiting for it to arrive... 1313 |

The S-2 is "Ice White", and the S-3 is "White Gold" with little sparkly things in the paint. Someone said that if you don't look back at your bike as you walk away, you bought the wrong damn bike... I always looked back at the S-3. |

Bad-assed-est: S-1 Prettiest: S-2 Best Handling: XB9R Fastest: 1125R Best Overall and got more non-Buell people riding Buells than any other model: XB12X Best never-built: tie between turbo XB and the Barracuda |

IMO, the 1190RX is a combo of the Barracuda and things they learned building the 1190RS. I think Hugh has a pretty good list, I would add the RS1200 as the smoothest, I'm really enjoying this machine. The XB12X is the most versatile motorcycle I have owned, it shines with a set of TKC80s on a fire/dirt road. The EBR 1190RS Carbon is just as fast as it is beautiful. Got my finished exhaust from Kevin Drum today, Colorado Mile is ONE month away. Hoping to break 180mph. Z |

I agree that the S1 is the sexiest of the bunch. I'm not including EBR, because that is not "Buell" in my eyes, which carries a different definition in my book, and I don't mean this as a negative. If I'm including EBR, it's the 1190RS, hands down. The first time I saw pictures of it, I thought it was one of the most gorgeous bikes ever made. For ride comfort and functionality, I'd take a Ulysses all day long. |
