I'd like to hear specifics from those that despise or dislike Trump.

Easy. He's a total blow-hard / New Yorker attitude / hot-head / agitator / reality show personality / multiple failed marriages / strip club proprietor / has paid off politicians (including the Clintons) --- the list goes on.

I gravitate more towards the type of leader with tactfulness, professionalism in manner and respectable candor; none of which Trump seems to possess.

BUT

Despite being fairly anti-Trump/pro-Cruz, the events that have unfolded over the past few months have swayed my opinion a bit.

I think the whole "build the wall / stop the refugees" thing is nothing but him pandering to folks like myself that would actually like to see that happen. Will he actually do those things? I remain quite skeptical. My partisanship was swayed when I started seeing his supporters being violently attacked at his rallies.

Given recent developments, I'm not so sure that our upcoming 'election' will be anything but kabuki theatre used to let the masses think that they are exercising the one right that made this whole thing 'sacred'.

We'll see.

Just read that a Trump casino opened a strip club, but that was after Donald Trump was no longer involved in its operation. He got out after it went public. The company retained the use of the name. So Donald Trump never owned a strip club, or owned a company that owned a strip club, but the Company that still bears his name did.

Supposedly the Trump Taj Mahal has (had) a strip club but this is hearsay - sorry for posting w/o researching but I felt the source to be reliable enough.

This may not have been personally ordered by Trump but I highly doubt it would've been added without his approval.

From what I understand, Trump (the person) was no longer affiliated with the casino in question when that entity decided to open a strip club. When Trump sold his interest in the company, part of the deal was that it (the company) would retain the Trump name. So they didn't have to ask his permission. He was just another man on the street at that point.

I didn't fully answer the question posed by Ferris; being at work right now I don't really have the liberty. But here is a short synopsis:

Donald Trump does not appeal to the sensibilities of intelligent people. We need an intelligent leader in the White House and QUICKLY. Preferably NOT one who is almost openly playing for the other side such as we've had for the better part of the last decade.

Been watching the Dem convention.

Mostly criticising Trumps failed business ventures and attacking his character.

Frankly, I like that Trump is in your face, non P.C., instead of overly P.C., stab you in the back tactics Democrats are famous for.

Other than that a lot of patting each other on the back for having improved America so much over the past eight years. I'm not so convinced.

Between the Republican convention there's a stark difference in the crowd at attendance. The Repubs looked genuinely supportive and animated as a whole. Lots of cheerful faces and people having fun with it. In the Democratic convention the crowd looks more ragtag. There's a mix of boisterousness, intermittent sobbing, and the rest emotionless zombies. Very bizarre.

Michelle, of course, like her husband, plays the race card...though also pulls out the slavery card. Just a little ironic coming from the party that promoted both.

Calling the Republicans racist, bigots, and un-American for wanting to uphold immigration laws and wanting to stop the flow of Syrian refugees until a reformed vetting system is put in place was pretty classy...because the problems France, Germany, and Europe are having looks like a great thing for America.

I'll take a blowhard over a criminal any day. At least we know where he stands. And honestly...we could do with a lot LESS PC in this country.

The last 8 years should have taught us that.

Alas, any intelligent person is smart enough to stay FAR AWAY from anything having to do with getting elected to public office in this country. All the system draws anymore is egotistical self-serving idiots.

Oh, forgot the climate change thing. Every speaker said climate change is real because their scientists say so. We all believe in science, right?

The Bernster says there's a big surprise in education reform. Said something about a plan for everyone under $125,000 incomes to get "free" public college educations! Yeah, free stuff!

>>>My partisanship was swayed when I started seeing his supporters being violently attacked at his rallies.

I:'m a bit in the same boat. When I saw folks, peacefully holding signs, getting their asses clicked without provocation . . . it wasn't the ass kicking it was the American institutions FREE SPEECH.

As long as you keep your hands off me you should be able to stand in front of me and say about anything you want. That ability to exercise free and open discourse is what defines us. I just had some good friends return from a wedding in Jordan. I've never felt so lucky, and they had a great time, to be an American as when I hear of some other cultures and country. I respect them. But I am glad and proud to be an American.

Interesting that the Dems were assailing the Republicans for mentioning Hillary 263 times or something . . . Elizabeth Warren, alone, mentioned Trump something like 30 or 4 times last night and Trumps already been mentioned something like 133 times in the first night.

They have nothing to offer. All they can do is work harder and harder to get you to dislike Trump

Donald Trump does not appeal to the sensibilities of intelligent people.

With all due respect: I, and millions of other intelligent Americans who just made him our Republican nominee for President, couldn't disagree with you more.

Curious where you get your news. The mainstream media has branded Trump for years as all the things you dislike about him.

But, we all know the mainstream media (and much of the non-mainstream "supposedly conservative" media) is breathtakingly corrupt, owned lock, stock and barrel by our (currently) socialist government. Court is 100% spot on:

quote:

They have nothing to offer. All they can do is work harder and harder to get you to dislike Trump.

I can offer you an online, conservative, Christian-focused, highly-crowd-sourced source of news and information if you're interested, one that I've vetted to my satisfaction for several years now.

ANYTHING that comes out of the television (including, sadly, almost everything from FOX) should be considered as pure Pravda until proven otherwise.

I said it when Trump first announced he was in the race and started running his mouth that no one is hearing the message, just the delivery.

The delivery itself is what has garnered him the support of a lot of Americans. He calls an ostrich an ostrich, not a flight inhibited moderately overweight stringy fowl. (or something like that)

That is extremely refreshing to everyone listening to the PC crap coming out of every other politician mouth since the 50's (or earlier).

Even the SO who has long been a Clinton supporter is looking elsewhere. She just can't force herself to pull the lever for Trump and is just as disgusted pulling it for Hillary. Feeling the Bern was never even an option for her either. I have never seen her this undecided.

The attacks in San Jose came from a large group of _possibly_ illegal aliens, most certainly anchor babies. Look at the videos and see all the Mexican flags? I was downtown that day and was amazed at all the cars flying the Mexican flag. There were a lot of people booing, not even close to the convention center and we watched as things were thrown out of the windows at people booing their flag displays. If they are so proud of their shit hole country, why are they here illegally and not home supporting their cause and working to improve things?

I love the lawsuit against the city by the folks that got attacked as the police stood by and watched. The guys seen on video standing behind the glass doors watching the girl get egged and having stuff thrown at her should be ashamed. Their grandmothers should slap them silly and their moms should kick them in the nutz for just standing there. Real men would have helped her. Shameful...

The one thing I've always detested about the Democratic party is the way they present issues with all the fervor, compassion, and honesty of a used car salesman (a bad one if that's your profession). The message is always half truths and party lines, dumbed down to sound palatable while the actual content and intent is often something quite different.

Both parties do their fair share of political pandering, but historically the Democrats are pathological liars.

The mainstream media has branded Trump for years as all the things you dislike about him.

Funny that you mention it in this way. My personal opinions on Trump are based SOLELY upon his own words and actions. I have never cared at all for reality TV but a former roommate of mine used to have 'The Apprentice'on from time to time. I loved it whenever he'd exclaim "YA FIHYAAHD". He's a showman and quite boisterous. Reagan was a showman but with bucket-loads more class. That's my only beef with him. Any other exposure to him has come from watching rally footage and I've also listened to many interviews conducted on Michael Savage's radio program (I have mixed feelings about Savage but that's another topic entirely).

ANYTHING that comes out of the television (including, sadly, almost everything from FOX) should be considered as pure Pravda until proven otherwise.

Agreed 1000%

My dislike for Trump really boils down to petty grievances. When he first announced, I was suspicious of him doing it purely as a Clinton shill - that idea got thrown out the window fairly quickly. Then, again, when I saw his supporters come under attack (by illegals in many cases I'm certain), my attitudes changed. If those people are THAT against him, it makes me that much MORE for him.

Not mine . . . but a nice summary . . .

quote:

Like these truths?

Only the willfully ignorant can support this profoundly corrupt woman!

The 25 things that are truly important about Hillary instead of this left wing fluff:

1. When did she know her husband was a serial abuser, and does she feel guilty for destroying his accusers?

2. Explain precisely the trades made in the Cattle Futures scandal where $1,000 was turned into $99,000 in a matter of weeks?

3. Why didn't she do anything to protect the Americans in Benghazi?

4. Who is Saul Alinsky and why was he her mentor?

5. When she was working on Watergate, why did her boss Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, call Hillary a “liar” and “an unethical, dishonest lawyer” and have her fired?

6. What really happened with Travelgate?

7. What really happened with the Rose Law Firm?

8. What really happened with WhiteWater?

9. What gave Hillary the right to see private FBI files of her political enemies in FileGate?

10. Why won't she turn over her illegal server with state department e-mails to congress?

11. Why does your foundation accept money from avowed terror states?

12. What is her take on the Vince Foster "Suicide"?

13. Why did she think she was entitled to steal the White House furniture when she left?

14. Why do you lie even about things that mean nothing: lying about being under sniper fire in Bosnia, lying about being named after Sir Edmund Hillary, or lying that your grandparents were immigrants.

15. Should America be concerned that in ChinaGate, the 22 people that were convicted of fraud or for funneling Asian funds into the DNC were associates of Bill Clinton?

16. Did selling stays at the Lincoln Bedroom to political donors make you feel like a wh)o(re?

17. Does Hillary think Juanita Broadrick lied when she said on national news that Bill Clinton raped her?

18. Is she still okay that Bill goes to pedophile island with Jeff Epstein?

19. Why are there so many murdered and suicided people in the Clinton's immediate circle?

20. Doesn't the fact that the Clinton Foundation has to amend 5 years of its tax returns for improper reporting imply that you were involved in an illegal RICO enterprise?

21. Doesn't approving the Russian-owned Uranium One deal as secretary of state--because of illegal contributions to your foundation--in fact make you a traitor to this country?

22. Was it wise to have at least four Clinton Foundation board of directors that have either been convicted or charged of the financial crimes of bribery and fraud?

23. Why, Hillary, did you pay your female senate staffers 72% of what you paid your male staffers?

24. When you represented an accused pedophile rapist, why did you laugh when you got him off even though you believed him to be guilty?

25. She said she had one e-mail address, it came out that she had two; She said she had one device, it came out that she had two: She said none of her e-mails on her private server was classified, but when the State Dept handed over 300 e-mails the FBI redacted large sections of one, proving again she was wrong.

Thus, Ms. Clinton, are you incompetent or just a congenital liar?

When Trump sold his interest in the company, part of the deal was that it (the company) would retain the Trump name. So they didn't have to ask his permission.

Actually, putting his name on the carpet & drapes & dishes & coasters & doors & glass &..... is Donald's special money maker. Sure, I don't doubt there's ego involved, in abundance, but he charges a licensing fee to keep using his name on the properties he sells. It's deliberately cheaper to pay him, on top of the price of the building, than to remodel to such an extent quickly. Because he sure will sue if you call your hot dog cart "Trump's ANYTHING".

Kind of brilliant if you think about it.

I'm starting with disliking the guy in a vague way, just because he rubs me the wrong way.

Compared to the medieval rack of the Hillary Cackle, that rubbing is like o hot rock massage. Sort of restful, but annoying too.

That said, if Donald lives to the election, and the Democrat voter fraud isn't enough to stop him, and Obama doesn't cancel the election because of the terrorist attack on REDACTED and the use of the Army to put down the REDACTED revolt in REDACTED.....

I feel fairly secure with Donald.

Congress & the Press won't let him get away with anything. The may only hate Ted Cruz more than they hate Donald. ( which is a GREAT reason to like either one )

So Donald won't deport anyone illegally. He Won't kick all the Muslims out. He won't get Mexico to pay for the Illegals. ( a great idea, but pure BS. remember when the idiot Pundits said Bush should make Iraq pay in oil for our freeing them? Great idea, pure BS. ( btw BUSH never said that. Rush did )

He might get some work done on the wall. And he might get an actual Justice Dept. to hang some Congressmen. win-win. ; )

Hillary WILL take away my property and rights, and life if I object. Her followers are all convinced she is ready to lie her way to absolute power... Watch the "gun control" video. A delegate who admits they plan to lie to you to screw you.

The Press won't report when jack booted thugs kick down your door.

And the Congress won't stop Hillary. They'd be called sexist pigs if they did and they desperately want to keep being invited to the parties at Capitol City.

That's huge.

We know . . .as a matter of absolute certainty . . . that Hillary can get away with anything and is unlikely to be held account for anything.

If she summarily decides she doesn't want you to have your 2nd amendment rights orders all guns turned in . . . she'll be unstoppable.

If she decides that rich folks who have contributed to the Clinton Foundation should receive compensatory tax breaks . . . illegal as hell and no one, as has been proven, no one can stop her.

Trump . . . idiot that he is . . . at least has a track record of putting folks in place and demanding results AND we know the media won't give him a millimeter of slack.

Plus it'll be entertaining as hell.
