Well, it's over.

Hillary wins.

The republicants have it all up beyond repair. Add insult to injury, Governor Deal here in Georgia has vetoed religious liberties and 2nd amendment rights.

Where can a conservative go to escape the massive tide of socialist ideology?

Trump has been steadily gaining on Clinton for a while. Some polls have him beating her now.

No one thought he could get this far, why assume he won't keep proving doubters wrong?

When the dead rise from their graves again to vote democrat (like they always do), how can my vote possibly matter?

No, I won't be voting for the Donald. Not ever.

Everyone who put Trump where he is now are the ones to blame for this situation.

Hybrid -

I think what Pwnzor was referring to is the fact that the GOP won landslides in both midterm elections and did NOTHING to stem the tide of "transformation" - Cruz, Gowdy and a small handful of others are the only exception. Boehner, Ryan, Cantor and MANY others proved to be complete turncoats in their complicity. Thus, a "REAL" party outsider - Trump - rose to power. Cruz was the real-deal constitutionalist but since he was already a Senate member the low-info conservatives lumped him in with all the slackjaw republicans --- now bye bye GOP. I'm w/ Pwnzor EXCEPT I feel that #neverTrump = #Hillzforprez - YMMV

Ah, gotcha.
On that we agree then.
We had a R majority and yet they let so much of O's stuff get through. Lot of RINOs.

As fro Cruz - screw him, glad to see he's out and would be happy if I never saw him on TV again.

Im just hopeful that Trump picks a good running mate and can kick Hillary's butt.

Life is a compromise.
We look at the things we want to do, then at the things we are able to do and try to make the best of use of what life allows.

Don't take the cowards way out. Vote.

Quite the opposite. I'm not voting for him just because you or anybody else tells me to.

I vote for revolution... and not the kind where people walk around with signs chanting dumb slogans.

And then we get to the other reason for Trump...

The republicans got majorities, but then got beat by a biased media and couldn't get anything done.

If there is one thing you can say trump does well, it is managing (manipulating actually) the media. And about damn time, if conservative principals lose the vote then so be it, but when liberal ideas are artfully described and beautifully presented, while conservative ideas are dipped in manure and mangled beyond all recognition, and the "big uninformed middle" carries the liberal ideas, then that's simply injustice.

Some conservative ideas are manure. So are many progressive ones.

When the ideology of the press gets to where "any means necessary" & total willingness to lie about stuff determines the outcome? Not so good.

Example. N. Carolina and this massively lied about bathroom law. I heard a N.C. politician explain how the state specifically cannot write bathroom rules to exclude anyone. But does allow each county to do so. That may be a cop out. Or a smart end around. Depends on your view.

Otoh the news cycle calls it a prejudicial law taking rights away from trans minority folk.

Haven't read the law and no longer will take on faith that either side isn't lying to my face for evil purpose.

I agree with Pwnzor on the " won't get fooled again" Republican establishment scum.

Not sure what that justifiable rage has to do with Trump. But am willing to accept that Donald is an uber jerk string of swear words....

Any body but Hillary. Don't do hashtags.

Matt,

Thank you for your personal kind words.

I am angry too. I was also angry in a different time when the economy was in shambles, interest rates were in the stratosphere, Iran was on the offensive, and Russia was invading nations. It was seemingly hopeless.

And along came Reagan.

Can't help but wonder if Trump will even make it to the inauguration. He seems healthy... today... But 8 months can go by fast. There is still Hillary too.... And... BTW, doesn't Trump still need 1237? Or is that over?? What about an independent too late for that too??

I just can't believe we are stuck with Hillary and Trump!!! Who would have thought?

The NC bathroom law is another good example of ideology trimphing over compassion and common sense, and resulting in the conservatives shooting themselves in the foot and ending up far worse off than if they did nothing.

Basing it on DNA was an FU to transgenders. If somebody has gone to the level to be surgically and pharmacologically modified to a substantial degree, they can use the bathroom they have been modified to use. It's the most reasonable choice.

Then, once you realize that perhaps you can't actually write a law that defines that or covers the corner cases, perhaps that is where a wise person thinks "perhaps I shouldn't be trying to write a law". And that what you are doing isn't about morality or justice, it is about control of others.

The problem is that no law stands alone. The "bathroom" law is a great example. It also extends to locker rooms in schools, athletic clubs, etc. Anyplace you might want a slight bit of privacy from the pervs. It will never be perfect, but it seems like there is a strong effort to erode all common sense.

Then you get things like this... http://www.presstelegram.com/general-news/20160429 /judge-says-long-beach-police-discriminate-against -gay-men-in-lewd-conduct-cases Now you can't even let the police target the predators among us, because they are targeting the predators. This is why the TSA has to occasionally strip search granny at Christmas time. If you can't see how progressive thought has completely derailed all sorts of things in our country, (and around the world) then I just don't know what to say at this point.

I do agree with Matt that one way or another, we need a reset. I also recognize that more often than not, the reset doesn't get you good results. One of the best resets in the worlds history happened in 1776. Prior to that, and many since then have failed miserably. As a species, we don't seem to learn well. I feel extremely lucky to have lived when and where I did.

From the Press Telegram article:

In his ruling, Long Beach Superior Court Judge Halim Dhanidina dismissed the case against Rory Moroney, 50, of Long Beach, who was arrested Oct. 15, 2014, at Recreation Park

This is a big part of what's wrong with America. This man was jerking off in a public bathroom and making eye contact with an undercover police officer. The judge throws out the case because he was victimized by the police officer somehow.

Common sense and decency are out the window. So... to all those who are leeching off me, and claiming that I and others like me are victimizing them, I welcome your eventual demise as you starve to death or languish on your rooftop while waving at one of the helicopters I paid for...

Your food stamps will get you nowhere in the wilderness. You have gotten exactly what you have asked for. You win. I lose.

Remind yourself of that fact when it all comes back around.

wow... I kind of went on a bit of a tangent there...

I read it.

Being disgusted with the R establishment is what gave us the Donald. And I'm still upset with the R party.

Naturally as a law abiding citizen I have no viable alternative to voting for the lesser of evils handed me by the parties. Cthulu all the way.

I won't discuss alternative processes not legal or moral.

I may have emailed some Kim fellow in Korea with the addresses of our conventions. ; )

Still doesn't justify letting Hillary win without a fight.

To borrow a line from Hillary, "At this point what difference does it make?" Trump is the Republican nominee you can either get on the Trump train or not but for Republicans to continue to whine or even entertain the idea of voting for Hillary is lunacy. Trump, on a bad day, is far more conservative than Hillary.

Might not agree with Fred but this one seems accurate.

Pwnzor's totally justified anger at the R leaders may be misdirected at Donald.

Not that there's not plenty about Donald worth loathing. But refusing Donald a vote because the R leaders screwed you is like hating crayons because an artist did a mocking cartoon of you in pencil.

Consider the pencil people ( r leaders) are telling you to hate crayons. .......... that makes you a major sucker to buy the "never trump" shtick.

You can never tell the future in detail. Broad strokes, maybe, sometimes.

Example. It was easy to predict that the Obama regime would be bad for the economy. But who predicted the propping up of the stock market with imaginary money? The continued rise in number of people unemployed and the utter lack of responsible journalism? ( ok Glenn Beck, but dang )

In 2000 would you have believed food prices more than doubled and zero interest rates while the president declared the best economy ever? ( ok Glenn Beck. ...)

Not even going to mention the Barry's Wars and the flood of "refugees" ?

Trump could bring us into a silver age of freedom and economic prosperity. .... or his assassination by the Skull & Bones fraternity and replacement by a rag doll run by the Bush family could do the same. ; )
