I was thinking of all the ethnic Kurds that died horrible deaths as a result of Saddam's chemical weapons as the primary evidence of Saddam's chemical weapons. And I watched Bush announce the war. It couldn't be clearer that it was the result of failing to cooperate with inspectors, which would allow us to insure there were no WMD's. Which was the agreement Saddam made to stay in power after loosing the war he started with Kuwait. But perhaps I am less easily confused by the media manipulations than others are. Like I have alluded. In hindsight, I think the Iraq war may have been a mistake. But it was a bipartisan one that was made with massive support from US citizens, not a personal conspiracy from Bush and Rove. In fact, I'll go so far as to say it had massive world support, expecially since it was American hands getting dirty and American blood being spilled, while the Europeans can remain remote, enlightened, and passive aggressive about the whole thing while reaping its predicted benefits of security against terrorism. There are lessons to be learned here, but we won't learn them with people like Fred in the room blindly shouting "hooray for my side" like some high school sophomore who just discovered politics. | ||

Reep, pretty much agree. I had real issues with the way Bush handled the peace after he liberated fifty million people from tyranny. In Afghanistan, where Obama lost more of our troops than the 7 years before..... the mistake was being overly polite to Pakistan, and trying to prop up a central government where you have tribes that never accept that. When Barry tried to copy Bush's success in Iraq with a surge propaganda campaign. ... without allowing a change in ROE to go after the Taliban, he was trying a strategy that worked in urban Iraq with a tradition of central government. Fail in rural tribal lands with none. | ||

In Iraq the problem was allowing a theocratic constitution and failing to allow for sectarian issues. Part of that you can blame on State dept. which is prejudiced for Sunnis and dismiss Shia. Poor choice of regent and too much support of a corrupt Iraqi govt. Then after AQ was defeated in Iraq, Barry Taqiyya announced his abandonment of Iraqi, then gave weapons to AQ in Syria. ISIS is his child. Why? Why did Barry decide it was a great idea to depose Assad? What idiot would attack a Soviet client state with modern anti air defenses? Why after insisting we are not the world police did he start a war in Syria? Thousands dead, slavery, mass rape, genocide are Barack Obama's legacy. Again Fred, you are trying to find facts to fit your preconceived conclusion. You will always be able to find some outlier or bend some fact to do that, so don't waste your time trying. Just stick with your preconceived conclusion, and acknowledge that its a matter of dogma and faith to you. But when you try and argue from that standpoint with others who are open to letting facts guide them, you just come off equal parts ignorant and tedious. Because he already has, in the very same interview in which he said that he wouldn't. By going on national television and declaring that he doesn't believe she broke any laws, he is laying the foundation for FBI and DOJ to not prosecute, and at the very least, signaling quite loudly to those organizations from his bully pulpit that he expects her to get off. And if that fails, he'll pardon her, referring back to the time that he said he doesn't believe she did anything wrong, implying that this was all just politics as usual and that Hillary is a victim of The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. | ||

Now Obama's AG has properly told American law Enforcement to use the color of a person's skin to determine their prosecution, not their actions. In what world is it OK to encourage someone who is already here illegally, to commit a federal offense of identity theft, and at the same time claim that these people are not a problem? Doesn't that disqualify them from the "if they haven't committed any other crimes" mantra of offering them amnesty?
